Started out great. I had some fillings done and they have been nothing but problems since. The doctor's recommendation essentially was to take Tylenol and hope it gets better. I couldn't deal with the pain anymore so I went to another dentist. They ended up pulling the tooth 2 days after I was told nothing was wrong at Tidewater. Then a year later I get a bill for the "diagnostics". Complete joke. They'd rather take your money and refer you elsewhere than actually help you. It seems they care more about the quantity of patients they see instead of the quality of service provided.

My 1st visit went great. Front desk stuff friendly, the dentist was great. dental hygienist, Annie awesome! Morgan was very good at telling me what needed to be done, and not to freak out. They did things my last dentist did not and got me right on track fast for my treatment. So far everything has been great.

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with Tidewater Dental was so frustrating and disappointing that I feel compelled to share. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to question whether this dental office is truly dedicated to providing good service for all families, regardless of their insurance.
First and foremost, the behavior of the office manager Lindsay was appalling. When she called me to confirm my children's appointment for a Friday (my children were scheduled for the following Monday), the manager was not only dismissive but downright rude. I explained that I needed to cancel their appointments because we had just recently moved. Before I could finish, the manager Lindsay then told me, with zero empathy, that they could not be scheduled together anymore and that she would put a note on my children’s chart and to all Tidewater dental offices (as if I would ever take my children to any of their other establishments). I was told I would have to bring them in separately, which was incredibly inconvenient, especially considering I had been scheduling their appointments together for the sake of efficiency and convenience.
What upset me even more was the tone and attitude of the manager throughout the entire interaction. She was unbothered and unhelpful, as if my concerns didn’t matter at all. This was a stark contrast to the friendly, caring customer service I would expect when dealing with a kid-friendly dental office.
Additionally, I couldn’t help but feel that my family was being treated differently because we use Medicaid insurance. It seemed like our needs were being brushed aside and that the quality of service was lower simply because of our insurance type. This is unacceptable and feels discriminatory.
I understand that offices have policies, but the way my situation was handled—especially by the manager—was unprofessional and frustrating. I won’t be returning to this office and will be looking for a place that truly values all families, regardless of their insurance status. I will be escalating this situation to a higher-up. I would not recommend this practice to other parents, especially those who rely on Medicaid.

I have been a patient at Tidewater since 2007 in Great Mills, MD, and I have consistently appreciated the warm atmosphere and professionalism of the staff. Dr. Todd and his team have always been attentive to my concerns. However, my recent experience at the Tidewater location in Charlotte Hall was unsatisfactory. The receptionist was unwelcoming and criticized me for not returning her call to confirm my appointment, even though I had already confirmed via text message. Additionally, the doctor was dismissive, failing to address any concerns I may have and rushing through the appointment without engaging with me. On a positive note, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was knowledgeable and provided a detailed cleaning. However, this level of care does not meet the standards I expect from Tidewater and I believe it is crucial for the practice to address these issues.

This was our first visit to establish a new dental practice after our move here. Lindsey was most helpful and pleasant. My husbands initial appointment was thorough and his dental plan was established. We are happy to have a new local practice.

The front desk people are very friendly and accommodating. I had to bring my young kids and they treated them with nothing but kindness.
Dr.Patel checked on me multiple times to make sure I was okay, and the assistant was very kind to me and my kids.

Dentist here has no bedside manner and does horrible work. Wanted to replace all old fillings. He messed up the first ones he did and it took two months for the pain to subside. The teeth were contoured wrong as well. Additionally, you can book an appointment or cleaning several months out, but if you don’t confirm 3 days prior they cancel it and don’t let you know. I tried to return the phone call to confirm 4 times and no one answers. Good luck talking to a person in the phone. Avoid this location. Other affiliated offices are great.
