the low ratings give this location a disservice. enhancing your recovery journey is about the effort you put in. despite the BHT turnover rate, overworked staff, toxic environment (to be expected of alcoholics and addicts...), and other kinks, this location has a team that genuinely tries to elevate clients from their circumstances. shout out to ALL the nursing/medical team, renika, facilities/cleaning team, Charles, and last but not least mister t. everyone in the building is a blessing, fr. thanks 🙏🏾

If you are voluntarily seeking actual help with alcohol problems, go elsewhere. This place seems mostly invested in bringing addicts in the criminal justice system back as often as possible to keep the beds full. Insufficient servings of food. Dirty mops and lack of cleaning supplies for us who want to keep clean, i.e. :fellow clients barfing and pooping and leaving menses in inappropriate places. Overworked and insufficient maintenance staff. Screaming and cursing and glorification of drugs i never even heard of is the consistent background roar daily.. If you are female especially, go elsewhere if possible. Juvenile girl drama with girl bullies wanting you to enforce their will in silly cigarette and coffee economy drama. One old male counselor hounded me and mocked me to my face, and is inappropriate with young vulnerable ladies (dirty jokes sex talk i.e. positions lubricant, etc... ). They rely on doling out drugs to maintain a semblance of peace. You are left on your own to figure things out, as someone else mentioned. One new Bht staff with a chip on her shoulder asked me question then screamed at me for attempting to answer politely as I could. There are good workers there undermined by the toxic, lazy culture of the institution. Etc....i witnessed all of this with my own eyes.. RUN.

Went in for 7 days and here’s my experience . Extremely understaffed if anything the day nurses and few bht staff members along with mr t was the only good people there actually cared and attended any promblems I faced . The food is good the beds and rooms are terrible and dirty. They only have psych nurse in on Mondays so good luck getting medication unless you throw a fit and become mental then they will have a face time set up with said nurse. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here hell even a judge at Annapolis court house knows it’s a terrible place!!

This is a great treatment center if you are in crisis. However, many human resource related issues were witnessed while attending their 30-day residential program. Both physical and verbal disagreements between program residents, patients, and staff are normal. Personal valuables may or may not be stolen. You’re encouraged to remain at the facility as long as you are insured through Maryland or Pennsylvania. Hopes this helps somebody seeking treatment.

I was there about two years ago. I was only there for a short time because they had a transfer me to the hospital after 3 days of throwing up. (Detoxing)I was in the hospital for 8 days. I was promised a bed when I got back. They didnt realize I was going to be gone that long, and they said my bed was taken. The people did bring my belongings up to the hospital. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff was stolen. So I didn't get a chance to complete the program. I went to pathways after my hospital stay and that was a great experience.

Walden is a good place to be. That being there's a negative to every positive at times you can tell that different departments had it out for the dietary department specifically the manager in the dietary department. She was one of the most amazing people that I've met on my journey through recovery she always was smiling despite what she may deal with on the outside she always kept things professional she always made sure each meal was prepared to thoroughly. Fresh hot nutritious and fulfilling not one client left outside of that cafe on an empty stomach unless they chose to. For her to continue to do her job in a very efficient manner through all the targeting write-ups that staff encouraged clients to do towards her and write-ups that come from some of the staff towards her she somehow still seems to prevail. I wouldn't have made it through my days is there if she didn't continue to give me uplifting words of encouragement and resilience. So I want to thank her for being the person she is. Once again it's sad how many people Target her for just doing her job and I feel as though they should be rooting for her rather than against her. Thank you Walden and renika.😇😇👍

From the moment I arrived, I noticed a distinct lack of diversity among the staff. It quickly became apparent that this lack of representation had serious consequences.
The staff members consistently displayed racist attitudes and behaviors, which left me feeling marginalized and demoralized. It is deeply disheartening to witness individuals who are supposed to support and guide you on your journey to sobriety instead perpetuating harmful stereotypes and discrimination. it was an absolute nightmare. Not only did I have to battle my own addiction, but I also had to endure the presence of a staff that was blatantly racist, making my road to recovery even more challenging.

What a disgustingly dirty facility, even seen a few roaches. Very disappointed in the process. There is no true guidance. You are kind of left alone to figure things out on your own. The food is terrible and there was definitely not enough as everyone was starving throughout the day and evening. I was told I would be there 3-5 days and after the sixth day I still had not seen my counselor and said I’m done. They then were trying to keep me longer when all I was doing was detoxing from alcohol. A few of the staffers genuinely cared but most of the staff were power tripping and treated many of the patients with such a lack of compassion. I’m continuing my path through my local outpatient treatment center and I’m telling you this place is a joke.
