Very nice camp ground. My Girl Scout Troop enjoyed our time there. Play ground could use a little upgrade according to the girls but they still had fun. Grates are available you just need to ask in the office. The Knight family that owns and runs it were very kind.

UPDATED: We have stayed at this campground a number of times - It used to be very well maintained and run. While we love the almost full hook-up grassy sites (no cable) and the location to Camden, the Maine coast and Young's Lobster pound, I am disappointed to report that some of the recent reviews are true. The older man who checked in our party had been drinking to say the least. There was no number on one of the 2 campsites we reserved causing an issue with our own group. The campground offers no discount to seniors, or the normal groups. But the reason I went in and changed this review was the bathrooms- You have to be kidding! What a dump! Forget the fact that there was no paper towels or even soap- drywall was pulled off the wall in much of the men's room and a large section of a wall board was resting in a shower stall- We will come back to see if things improve but this place needs attention now.
By the way- It took these people 11 months to cash a check that I wrote last September 2016. Nice surprise. Cash or check is all they take by the way. No. We won't be going back.

Here's my 5 year rview of Northport Campground in Northport, ME
We stayed here in 2019 and at that time the owner said he was going to be updating and clearning up the campground. The pool had been closed and the bathroom/shower house was disgusting with black "mold" or something around the edges of the shower floors. We had been assurred that these things were going to be taken care of.
We stayed here for 8 nights! At the rate they charged, ($60/night), it is a shame and if we could have gotten a refund and gone elsewhere, we would have!!
Although their website says "Clean indoor rest rooms with flush toilets and hot water. Hot showers," not one thing has been remodeled or fixed since we had been here 5 years ago. There is no way I or my husband would shower in these showers.
There is no office, there is no laundry room, there is no wifi. The trash dumpster hasn't been emptied since we got here and when we arrived it was already almost full!
There is one "permanent" mobile home that looks like it's ready to fall off its "foundation". They have a food truck in front of some of the worst, trashiest area behind it and next to his house.
This beautiful piece of property has deteriorated badly. It had about 10 RVs, and only about 3 had any people. All the rest looked like they were being stored here!
My advice is stay away. No matter how nice the owner was, the campground is a rip-off.

Poor ownership. Difficult to contact and when contacted they don't give you all the information. Had reservations for August and the Maine Lobster Festival but because of the price of gas and having to travel from Tennessee we decided to cancel two months early. Didn't matter to the ownership of the Campground they'd rather have my deposit of $100 than take care of a customer who would have used their campground the next year and would have put an outstanding review in for them. They said that lot would be empty because we cancelled but as I said they had two months to resell it and I'm sure they did. Even a "credit" to be used the next year would have been reasonable to us. So buyer beware of this Campground and the ownership. Next year we'll stay somewhere else providing gas has come down to a reasonable level. Too bad because Maine is full of good people but this group is not one of them.

Well priced. Owner is a accommodating, hardworking good old fashioned Mainer. My husband enjoyed our 3 month stay. He liked the grounds and walking our dog and chatting with Charlie the owner. I liked the price, quietness and being left alone. It was wonderful. I’m sure it’s busier (less private) in the summer. We stayed October through January.

I've known the owners of the campground for over five years. I've seen the family go through a lot of things, and still pull through. Despite all setbacks, their little campground has pulled through. I expect it to always pull through, no matter how many a customer, reasonable or not, goes through the grounds.
To the prior reviews, I can agree with both on the tranquility of the park and the nice atomosphere, but not the disposition of the owners. If there is an issue of any kind, I know for fact that either owner would give a respectable request towards their customers before simply "evicting" them. However, if in turn are given negativity, they will not hesitate to ask you to leave.
"Negativity" includes but is not limited to:
-Vandalism
-Lack of animal waste removal
-Campfires after 11 pm. (Seriously guys, why would you start a fire at midnight just why)
-Lack of common courtesy to fellow campers

And yes, tearing a hole in the pool liner / overall rowdiness is a pretty good reason for anyone to be escorted out of anywhere, not just a campground.

A special note to P. Dean:
Charlie doesn't run. Charlie hurt his back and hobbles at best for running. Nice try.
