The rooms were super clean. The restaurant right across the parking lot serves excellent food. We’ve never had a bad meal there. The owners of the motel went above & beyond to accommodate some of our special needs. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location right along Hwy 93. Plenty of parking for me towing a 26' utility trailer. Queen bed room was clean and comfortable. Quaint furnishings and touches including a Coleman wall heater (thats great!). Bathroom a little dated but everything worked, good hot shower and plenty of amenities (soaps, shampoos) Coffee pot in room great extra. Had dinner at the onsite restaurant, good food and great service. My check-in was fantastic, greeted by name, room had a light on and had been preheated (very nice touches!) Overall quite the bargain and find for travelers between Western MT headed south. Highly recommend but remember, this is not a Hilton, its rural ID..

We ate breakfast at the Village. They never disappoint. The food is delicious, the service is good. The atmosphere is pleasant. The scenery was beautiful this year with the fresh fallen snow.

The motel was busy with firefighters so we had to stay in a standard room rather than a suite which would have been quieter e.g. no one above us. However unlike a lot of places there was daily house-keeping which was a positive. We enjoyed tasty breakfasts and dinners in the restaurant during our three night stay.

Real Warning! ||||DO NOT STAY at the Village INN in Challis ID. ||||The people there including cleaning and maintenance people are all claim to be management and are rudei, you won’t believe. ||||They knocked at the door at ROOM 1 the “bunkhouse” and claimed that this is supposed to be a storage room and that they were told to get a bed out of there. ||||I moved to the couch in case they do pull the bed out.||||Then again somebody knocked. ||||Getting out confronting the employees, my wife and I was accused to be stupid people from California. ||||Then the guy with a burning cigarette in his mouth tried to open Room 3 and couldn’t get in. 2 more people joined him including a woman who said the guy is her husband. I told hear I feel very sorry that he is. They couldn’t open the door. LOL. All management of something ||||I treated them as they treated me called them f… M and as they repeatedly claimed to be management, I called them Manager of the toilets. I am not sorry I said that. I am itching to go back and say that again||||We didn’t stay here by choice. An Airbnb where we checked in was infected by bugs and mosquitos and the owner was nice enough to book us a room at the Village Inn for the remainder of our stay in the middle of the night, where we arrived at 2 AM||||We stayed at the Village Inn last year and noticed this rude people and decided to book an Airbnb instead not to stay here again. ||||Side note; the cleaning lady wore the exact same clothes like last year. Her choice, but it felt weird that I noticed it||||Guess what, we ended up at the same horrible place we decided not to stay again||||We were suppose to be guests there for 3 nights but after the 1st night, say 6 hrs, we needed to leave immediately. ||||The real management never showed up to hear us or assist||||Don’t stay there, you will not be welcome! ||||There are other options in town if you really have to stay in Challis the earthquake capital of the United States of A||||If you think I am picky or crazy. ||||I am not. ||||We travel for 4 months out of the year through UT, CO, ID, WY and MT but have never experienced anything like that. ||||This is a real bad place. There is also nothing good in town, nothing, except the fishing and outdoor store which is really cool to visit and purchase something. The guy is trying hard for a good vibe ||||Also do not go to the restaurant at the Village Inn it belongs to the same people . ||||It’s seems common to park a diesel truck in front of the restaurant and leave the engine running when the people of the truck go to have their lunch. Right in front of our motel room negotiating with the Airbnb owner to have a plan C for us. ||||After an hour + we were lucky enough to evacuate the place. Truck still running. Maybe it can’t be turned off. ||||Good bless to anybody who admires the nature and peace, enjoys life and f people who don’t care. Happy Climate change ! ||||I am writing reviews when I am asked to and point always out the good things but you know what, I am wasting my time now to write a review to alert fellow travelers not to stay at this dump.||||I hope you enjoyed my real story.

Stopped here with our 2 dogs. The service was good and very nice. Room was clean. Not a lot of places with grass for pet walking and prior customers had not picked up after pets in the small grass area. Convenient location. Attached restaurant has good breakfast and made it take out for us since we had our pets along.

Reviews are a bit skewed by the typical clientele doing the reviews. If you are happy with a motel 6 and that is your expectation, then this is fine. If you are more of a Hampton Inn or Hilton person, you will be highly disappointed. Bathroom was old. Door had a hole punched through it. Wall was cracked (person punched here too?) No bathroom fan. Beds were very bouncy (clearly the lowest quality old spring mattress). Upper floor with stair access only, so hauling your bags can be challenging. Heat and AC are an old wall unit. Hotel seems to attract biker crowd.
