I have lived here in "The Retreat", a cookie cutter neighborhood of rental homes, for about 14 months now. The house itself is nice, roomy, and has a good floor plan. You can tell it was put together kind of quick, also its still settling so a lot of screws are popping drywall. The rent could be less, especially due to the lack of amenities, but its not a renters market by any means right now. Speaking of the amenities, you will not find them here. You get your house and a very small fenced in yard, that's it. No pool, no playground, no walking paths, no sidewalk connection to main road sidewalks as of yet because of the main road construction. When you have an issue with the house maintenance is pretty quick to get there and solve it, not a lot to report there. However, when you have an issue with you lease, charges, or anything to do with Tricon Residential (the landlord) ... don't hold your breath. You can call, email, call again, wait on hold, it doesn't matter. You will talk to a Tricon representative who will "try" to "get ahold" of the nonexistent "local office/rep". They will say you are going to get phone calls back and never do. This has happened to me multiple times with various rent and lease charge issues. It is an absolute NIGHTMARE to get ahold of a representative who can actually explain anything about your lease, property, etc. There is no local office or property manager and you are just another number to Tricon. Also, they charge $75 a month to maintain strips of grass that they refer to as a yard and it still looks bad. I would rather save the money and do it myself but I wouldn't be able to get ahold of anyone to answer whether or not that is even possible. I have rented houses/apartments for almost 15 years, across various states and I have never experienced customer service as poor as Tricon Residential here at The Retreat in Holly Springs, GA.
