Positive: It's very conveniently located near the ferry. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Although small, our room was clean and there was daily chambermaid service which cleaned the bathroom and gave us fresh towels. Negative: They really should upgrade their toilets to comfort height. The old low style toilets in the bathroom are very difficult for us older patrons.

The majestic National Hotel sits on Water Rd on Block Island as a queen of hotels. Its beautiful white porch beckons you to enjoy a delicious lunch there with seaside views and refreshing breezes. ||When I visited with my husband Dave, two young granddaughters, and Hartford, CT friends, we enjoyed the friendly service, efficient wait staff, extensive menu choices, ice tea refills, savory clam chowder, flavorful fish, and ample portions. Granddaughters Hazel & Charlotte said that their chicken fingers were the best ever. We recommend the warm apple |Betty for a luscious dessert. |Upon exiting the ferry, we walked for just 5 minutes to this beautiful hotel with the well- deserved reputation for excellent seafood, steaks, and drinks. Catching the harbor views added to the ambiance. ||Photos show our smiles after finishing our meals and heading off to see breathtaking beaches, historic lighthouses, New England stone walks, intriguing monuments, and scenic walking paths with twists & turns.

It was my first time visiting Block Island and stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing! It’s centrally located to EVERYTHING! You can walk to most shops, restaurants, ferry, etc. The views were fantastic and breathtaking in the morning! Staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant and fire pits are a bonus. Had GREAT meals and drinks there. The hotel was lively with music, but very quiet on the floors, which was nice. Truly an AMAZING experience and can’t wait to return next year! HIGHLY recommend!

The restaurant and the staff are great. The food was amazing and the staff eagerly showed us maps of the island and recommended things to do. The room was next to impossible to sleep in though, you can here every door slam and footstep all night from other guests and there is constantly a loud popping, tapping, or humming noise from the outdated fixtures. It is a light sleepers nightmare. Everything is great otherwise, just bring earplugs.

Loved my 4 days here. Off-season was a great choice. Not crowded, very comfortable, and the friendliest and most cheerful staff, especially Kerrie and Jen. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. My friends and I visited Block Island today and went to this hotel for drinks and a bite to eat. All of the food we ordered took 1.5 hours to come out. Appetizers were only ordered, mostly clam chowder which does not take 1.5 hours unless the kitchen staff was actually at the beach clamming themselves. We were served shrimp that was in a puddle of water from the ice melting and somehow the server saw no issue with this. Manager took it off of our bill, but still NO excuses for this. Also, I have no idea where the tap water from this hotel is sourced from but it quite literally tasted like lead and various metals. I will be sending this hotel my medical bills if I do end up with lead poisoning. I am not surprised this hotel is still 3 stars. Serving lead water and poisoning the public is insane. Do better. 2 stars only for the location.
