Hosts were excellent, especially the blueberry bread which was home baked. I got an extra to sustain me for the trip home. We stayed two nights and slept soundly after days in Acadia including a sailing adventure. |If you hope the accommodations are like a Waldorf Astoria, look somewhere else. If you want a few nights rest in a reliably clean environment this will be more than acceptable. |For those who worry about a dated appearance, musty smell or unacceptable high tech connectivity everything ages. Ed and Christine work to keep maintain a very eye appealing roadside presentation and the rooms met the needs of this weary traveler.|My only negative is more lighting would be useful as reading late at night was challenging, not impossible. |There were no bugs, creatures or unexpected surprises in the rooms. |I would unquestionably stay there again, which is the best recommendation to offer.

I was in the area to do some hiking. This was one of the few places with decent prices for the night. I didn't read the instructions carefully, but there is a 6 PM check-in rule. I had stopped to grab dinner first and got a call from the owner to make sure I was still checking in. I apologized for not knowing about the check-in time, but the owner said it was no issue and to enjoy my dinner and not to worry about the time. I finally made it there by 8pm, and the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was a bag with a slice of banana bread and a muffin, which I used for breakfast. Good experience.

If the friendliness of the hosts were the only rating, I would give it an excellent, but the room itself was not great. It smelled strongly of a musty perfumey mixture of fabric softener and cleaning solutions. The room seemed like it hadn't been updated in decades. The shower head was small, old and screamed when you turned it on. The caulking and baseboards needed repairing. The bedding, again, had the strong musty perfumed smell. We opened the windows to air it out, but the road noise from the busy highway outside kept us awake. For an idea on how dated things are, the phone in the room was a 70's style push button landline. The hosts were very nice, but I was surprised that rather than a computerized check-in, they still write all your information by hand on 3x5 cards. The hosts provide homemade breads and cupcakes which they said they would put outside our door, but when we returned from dinner, they were sitting in our room. I would prefer that no one go inside my room without me being there. I'm surprised by all the rave reviews. I was expecting much more than what I experienced. Unfortunately, I can't say that I would return.

Wonderful place to stay! The owners are so nice, very accommodating, very knowledgeable about what there is to do in the area. In the evening, a bag with a slice of banana bread and a muffin for each of us was delivered. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of seating (4 Queen Anne chairs in our room) plus chairs outside where you can enjoy a beautiful view. I would highly recommend it !

The most charming and cozy room ever. Fresh, warm, delicious baked goods delivered to your room for a midnight snack or delicious breakfast. The beds were so comfortable and the chairs were perfect for reading and sipping coffee. The views were stunning and we can’t wait to go again. Perfection!

This was a delightful end to a long day driving. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the room had a lovely view of the bay. It’s hard to say what the best part was as there were several that ranked right up there. The snacks left for breakfast were amazingly fresh and tasty, a fine selection of rolls and fruit breads. One of the nicest things was after driving all day was to be able to sit out in front of our room and comfy chairs and watch the bay this place had a nice front porch of a 1950s home. I would stay there again anytime.

Perfect spot to stay in Maine! Ed and Christine the owners made us feel so welcome! Ed gave us a very in depth guide to the local map and explained all of the great spots to check out around town! The room was very clean and had a real nostalgic retro vibe! They even delivered hot muffins and banana bread to our door! It was a rare find to happen upon this special Inn that will make your journey through Maine even more fun and comfortable! Thank you Ed & Christine!
