Everything we orders was delicious! If you're feeling a little on the wild side and want to try some meats you don't normally find in a typical restaurant you must definitely try D&D. While the place was really busy the service was still phenomenal. Will definitely be returning!

$280 for two. The food itself is fine, but the price is too high and the amount of food is rather small. It’s gonna cost a lot if you want to get full (me and my friend weren’t full even though we spent $250+).

Taste: food themselves are good. We especially liked the burrata. The bone marrow & snails is a little disappointing because the edible part is really small. Most of the dish is the bread (although the bread tasted good). The squab has a good texture and the beans underneath taste nice. The duck and the hulibut are good but not beyond my expectations. The desserts are average.

Service and vibe: the atmosphere is cozy and the servers are nice. The only problem is that the serving speed is really slow, perhaps because the house is packed that night. We waited thirty minutes after we placed our order and the main dishes took another thirty minutes to come.

Price: the price is too high for almost every dish. The food is good but either the amount and the taste don’t really match with the price.

Where do I start, we found this hidden gem while headed to another restaurant and ended up here. God works in mysterious ways I tell you. Just peaking in, something about this place caught our attention. The decor and dem lighting, we were like we will check it out next time and ended up dining here lol. Definition of fine dining, host very friendly and greet you with a smile, once we was seated, our waitress, Aybek, I might of chopped up her name and I’m soo sorry, she was wonderful. I love a waitress that can give you a few suggestions off the menu. Also suggestion on drinks and have a sense of humor. Me & my wife lose track of time when we are in each others company so it was just a vibe all over. Downtown Decatur is just a vibe and this place matches everything. We have the Duck potatoes, Octopus 🐙.. I wanted more lol, the yeast something and Duck dish. I don’t really remember the name because the drinks was delicious and the food matched. I strongly recommend this place. This restaurant is fine dining so the price will match however the do have reasonable meals as well however I wanted to try certain foods and had no problem paying what’s the price was because IT WAS GOOD 😂. Thank you for the wonderful date night experience. Certainly a wave.

Amazing experience from the second you walk in. Servers are very attentive, the unique cocktails all have their own character, and if you go into it with an open mind, you’ll be shocked at just how much you enjoy the exotic meats they have on their menu. Presentation is top notch, as well. Highly recommend.

One of the most enjoyable meals I've had in Atlanta. The menu was very interesting and it's pretty rare for an upscale restaurant to focus on poultry and find a way to make it unique and interesting. We started off with the escargot, which was very rich but went great with bread and had a lot of complex flavors to enjoy. For entrees, the duck and pheasant were incredible. The duck was served three ways and the whole dish was delicious. It was honestly the best dark meat duck meat I've ever had, with perfect crispy skin and very tender meat. The pheasant also was unique and very enjoyable. I'd also highly recommend the venison appetizer and their cocktails. Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy while also fancy.

The Last Feast for ATL Foodies. A Perfect Send-Off at The Deer and The Dove

For our final ATL Foodies gathering of the year, we picked The Deer and The Dove, and what a beautiful choice it was to close out 2024 and welcome new culinary adventures in 2025!

First impressions matter, and this place nailed it. A warm welcome, a big smile, and we were escorted to our table. Arriving before everyone else, I had time to soak in the atmosphere. The decor is stunning, the ambiance smooth and inviting, and the staff interactions were flawless—a well-oiled machine of hospitality.

Once seated, the evening began with deep conversations. From summing up 2024 in one word to reflecting on life’s purpose and future goals, our group didn’t shy away from introspection, all while enjoying hearty laughs and delicious food.

Now, about the food: I cannot recommend the Duck Fat Potatoes enough—they melted in our mouths. For my main course, I had the Bramlett Farms Whole Trout, cooked to perfection. Around the table, other highlights included the Fossil Farms Pheasant—which I tried, and yes, it was incredible—and a burger that immediately went on my “must-try” list for next time.

Special shoutout to our server, Julia, who was the definition of on point. Her timing was impeccable—always there when we needed her but never intrusive. Her warm demeanor added an extra layer of charm to an already delightful experience.

In the end, The Deer and The Dove earned the title of a hidden gem of Atlanta. If you’re ever in the city, this place is a must-visit. Don’t skip the desserts—trust me, they’re worth it!

With a warm goodbye to 2024, here’s to new adventures and flavors in the coming year.

The Deer and The Dove is one of those word-of-mouth restaurants in Decatur. I found it as a substitute for Iberian Pig nearby. OMGness!!!! This is an absolute gem of a restaurant, food, service, vibe, and facility. I usually grab their burger and roasted potatoes if I’m in a hurry, but if I’m with clients or friends, I sample the octopus, venison, market fish, or ribeye. The roasted potatoes are the best I have had, roasted, salted in their own skillet 🙌🏾🙌🏾. Honestly, the chef is well-deserved to be recognized by @michelinguide as a must-try. Also, their bar is highbrow, seriously upscale bourbon, cognac, French wine, champagne, and mix drinks 🍹. I would recommend a visit over IP and Leon’s. It’s really good but expect a bill between $100-200 for 2! Ask for Brittany 🌹🌺💐

Went for a happy hour martini and also got a cheese plate. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 on food is they serve this gorgeous plate but only 3 pieces of bread. Would have enjoyed some more bread or crackers.
However, the drinks were very good! If you’ve never checked this place out, I’d recommend you do!
