The Brenton Hotel - Newport, Rhode Island

We had an exceptional stay at the Brenton, and could not recommend it more highly. The staff went above and beyond (special shout out to Mackenize and Jonny!), and made us feel welcome and comfortable. They had great recommendations, and helped with every question and issue that came up. The hotel is in a perfect location, right on the harbor and within a short walk of downtown Newport. The hotel itself is beautiful, feels modern but also true to its Newport location. We had a gorgeous, large room, and found the bed super comfortable. We loved the food, and the wait/bar staff was wonderful as well. We especially enjoyed the complimentary ice cream and seltzer! We stayed at the Brenton to mark a special occasion and they really made our celebration memorable. Huge thank you to the Brenton team! We hope to be back again one day.

I just want to take a second to thank everyone at the The Brenton Hotel. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with smiles and immediate attention. I had my dog with me for our first road trip together and was a little nervous. (He is a rescue and isn't a big fan on people approaching him, so he can be intimidating to some at first glance). Within minutes, my mind was at ease. Aiden made sure to give special attention to my dog which seriously just warmed my heart. From Maurice, to Mac, Todd, Carrie, CJ at the valet ( we listen to the same music ). Andy, the GM, was so nice and clearly takes pride in making this place a home away from home for us travelers. I have stayed in many hotels in my day, and I have never left with such a feeling that I made lifelong friends as I did at the The Brenton Hotel. Aiden especially went above and beyond anything I have ever experienced. |On behalf of myself and Cooper thank you all for such an amazing experience. Spent a few days around Christmas with family and friend at the gorgeous Brenton Hotel in downtown Newport. The rooms were beautiful, the food and drink delicious, the location fabulous but the highlight of all was the wonderful staff. We felt like we were part of a family there. The concierge, Kathy, worked miracles; the atmosphere in the Living Room which is the bar and casual dining room, was always fun and convivial; the housekeeping staff, especially the manager, were cheerful and went above and beyond. And very dog friendly!

This is a wonderful hotel. Tone perfect staff - friendly without being obsequious. Newish building / great location.

Food was wonderful. Had a couple of room questions and there were super focused.

The decor is very well done from the common areas to the rooms which are perfect.

Have stayed at some of the top chains - Ritz/Four Seasons/The Phoenician etc. This service and quality was as good of better - while being casual and not stuffy. A tough line - and they hit it.

We had a great relaxing weekend. Property is in a perfect location for everything Newport. Preferred Hotels properties are all top notch. Beautiful, well maintained and GREAT staff. Could use a true "full service" restaurant, not hust "light bites" although drinks and food are fantastic in a great setting. Very comfortable!

Beautiful hotel, customer service is fantastic. Great location, comfortable bed, Everything was wonderful, BUT…. Every room features a GLASS enclosed bathroom with a GLASS enclosed toilet section. Yes, some of the glass is clouded, but still there is zero privacy. Glass enclosure around toilet does not even cover the entire entry (think public bathroom stall, but in glass). |In a room with one bed (solo travelers or couples) I’m fine with the glass wall for the sink and shower area, but not the toilet area. And for a room for families |It’s really too bad, as the hotel is otherwise wonderful and can’t say enough good things about the staff. ||The toilet area fix would be easy, and if they do correct this error in form over function - I’d whole heartedly recommend. But until then - this is an absolute no.

Everybody from the valet, to reception, waitresses were all fantastic. Weirdly enough the rooftop bar is only open 4pm to sundown which is like 2 hours? It also requires a dress code but I am not certain why? The only thing lacking amenity wise in this hotel unfortunately is a pool and spa.

I visited the Brenton Hotel recently to purchase some gift cards for my family members. As soon as I walked in, the ambience of the hotel in addition to the professional service I received made me want to spend a few days at the hotel myself. From the garage door to the front desk, I was very impressed

Mackenzie at the front desk was professional, timely, and extremely helpful. While my Christmas shopping was later than expected this year, Mackenzie helped ease my stress of securing gifts for my family members with timely responses that were kind and respectful.

I am happy that my family will have the opportunity to stay at such a lovely hotel with staff that cares, and I look forward to doing the same myself. Thank you again, Mackenzie K.!
