Great food at this Bahamian family restaurant! We tried the conch salad, fried snapper, okra and tomatoes, Mac ‘n cheese, and a hamburger - everything was so delicious! Seasoned and cooked to perfection! Our server, Jessica was very attentive. The food does take a bit longer since it’s all cooked to order, but it’s worth the wait! 10/10 recommend!

I had a pleasure of having Jessica service my family and I. She went over and beyond making sure that we were happy and satisfied during our visit. My children and I enjoyed our meal, extremely tasty and fresh. I’m very satisfied and the price can’t complain at all extremely affordable. Everything was only $24. I would definitely be back from Vero Beach

We wanted to try something different and read the reviews and decided to try it. The food was good but the customer service was amazing. I love that gospel music was playing. I would definitely go back. Also the food came out at different times which took away the 5 stars.

Always on the look out for soul food, coming home we were passing through Fort Pierce and decided to try Sugar and Spice. It did not disappoint, arriving on a Sunday at 1200 pm, we did think it would be super busy, but it was not, and we were glad because after we sat down, there was a steady flow of take out and tables were filling up quickly. Right away you are met with a welcome sign on your table letting you know that most menu items are made to order and there will be a wait. Celebrity our server, came over quickly, there was only her and another server and I have to stay they handled the steady flow of customers expertly. We started out with a ten piece wing, 5 lemon pepper and 5 mild Buffalo, for me these wings were fried perfectly crispy, but were still moist, they are a 10. Personally, I'm a lemon pepper girl, and the wings could of used just a bit more of that seasoning, but still a ten. All the sides we ordered were seasoned and portioned well. Oxtail fell off the bone, fried pork chops seasoned and crispy. Smothered wings with a deep cooked flavor, though my husband did feel the sauce could be thicker. This place is just a really good place to get a delicious plate of food. It'll be worth the hour drive back.

So with someone telling me how this place wasn’t any good I stayed away since they opened. I know that I shouldn’t listen to ppl food reviews until I try it personally. I had the turkey wings at lunch with collard green and candied yams which I honestly enjoyed the food. The collard greens were good and weren’t drowned in juice on my plate as well as the yams. The peas and rice were amazing with the turkey wing placed on top with juice poured over the rice. So good! The only thing was the homemade fruit punch which tasted more like Hawaiian Punch which was ok but didn’t care for it again when I went back the same day for dinner. Now the oxtails were very delicious and a nice portion. The Mac and cheese was really good and not just some cheese sauce mix. The atmosphere which I loved was drenched in the Holy Spirit and truly a new staple spot for me when I want soul food in the Treasure Coast.

I was a little reluctant only because I didn't feel super confident based on some of the photos, but don't let that detour you. The food had really good flavor and was a welcome change from most of the "bar and grill" local options and chain restaurants. Hubby had the fried chicken wings, potato salad (he raved over every bite because he loved that they used a sweet relish in the potato salad) and yams. I had the homemade mac n cheese, blacked peas that I mixed with the pigeon n peas rice (a.k.a. dirty rice) and it was all great. Plus the side salad was spring mix and spinach, not the standard iceberg crap you usually get, and it had nice tomato chunks and good cucumbers. Can't wait to try the fried pork chops and some other sides. Try it, you won't be sorry, particularly if you like good home cooking...a.k.a soul food. 😋

I've been craving some soul food because it's been too long and man did they hit it out of the park! The customer service was great, the atmosphere was perfect, the restaurant was very clean and the food was absolutely out of this world. Would definitely get the oxtail, yellow rice, collard greens and fried okra again! 💜

I’ve been to Sugar and Spice a few times for lunch and have always enjoyed the experience, but this was my first time stopping in for dinner. I decided to try the meatloaf—comfort food at its finest—and I wasn’t disappointed. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and had that homemade quality that makes you feel like you’re sitting at grandma’s table.

However, I did notice one small issue with the meal: the portion of sides compared to the generous serving of meatloaf. Don’t get me wrong, the meatloaf was filling and delicious, but it felt like I had enough left over to make a second meal… if only I had more of the sides to go with it. I chose the yams and collard greens, and both were just as flavorful as the main dish—sweet, tender yams and perfectly seasoned greens that had just the right amount of soul.

Overall, the food was satisfying and the atmosphere had that warm, welcoming vibe that keeps you coming back. I’ll definitely return for dinner again, but next time I might just order an extra side or two to balance things out. If you’re looking for a spot that serves up soulful, stick-to-your-ribs cooking, Sugar and Spice is definitely worth the visit.
