My wife and I have lived at Sonata East at Viera for a year and a half. We agree it was the best decision we've made in some time. It is full-time resort living. The facility is unmatched anywhere in Brevard (and I dare say well beyond). The staff, truly consider us family and I've seen them come in on their day off to help or just check on you. What is perhaps the best is the Lifestyle Team. There is not a day go by that they don't have something planned that is fun and entertaining; be at the 'bar with trivia' and party games, to informative luncheons on places and things; to just a party. Special kudos go to Liz Silber, our Cruise Director, who somehow finds fun things for everyone. There are no "wall flowers" when Liz is around (you want to be in on the action).

The Memory care facility located within Sonata East at Viera is a safe and caring residence for individuals struggling with dementia/memory issues. Every caregiver is friendly and caring and treat residents with respect & dignity. Leigh & Olivia have plenty of activities for residents to participate in daily and special events for families to join their loved ones in also on a regular basis. Residents are encouraged to mingle in the large common area & they dine together at small group tables with a sense of belonging rather than isolation.

Sonata memory care is the best I've seen. I like how they try to keep the residents busy and their mind occupied. Leigh Myers takes a personal interest in the care and entertainment of everyone there. She is Very hands on and participates and interacts with the residents. With memory care patients it takes a special person, and Leigh is the perfect fit!

This facility is beautiful. My mother is very well cared for by all in memory care. They have become like family to us. Leigh the activity director keeps everyone active and engaged. Her energy and positive attitude is contagious. She was one of the main reasons we picked this home. While on tour we were able to watch her engage with the residents with such compassion and care, she knows each of them by name.

We met Director Ed See, Chief Chef Arthur Cox, and Chef Kevin at 1 Senior Place in Viera. They had prepared and demonstrated a remarkable presentation of a Mediterranean chicken dish. Chef Arthur invited all of us to dine free at Sonata East of Viera. We accepted and ate at the bar. We then met bartender Tyler. We had chicken wings, delicious, juicy and not overcooked like some wings we order out. Food amazing. Chef Arthur came out to talk to us and it was a great late afternoon. Would
highly recommend them to anyone. It is an independent living community and the restaurant is open to the public! Enjoy readers.

My mom lives at Sonata independent living apartments and she has been very happy with all of the fun entertainment provided by Liz Silber and the lifestyles team. They work so hard to put on lip sync, dinner events, and parties for the seniors. It really has made a huge impact on her quality of life and we couldn’t be happier!

My mom has been a resident for almost 3 years now and loves it there! She is so happy and they do so much for their residents. Liz and her team do an amazing job to keep the residents entertained. They have lots of in house activities and even take the residents to local restaurants and events going on.

My mom has been a resident in this facility since the opening. She was in the independent side for a couple of years and now is in memory care as of April so I’ve experienced both sides. I have been very impressed with how they run things. The independent side is awesome. It’s clean, smells nice, modern, very professional yet homey. They have sooo many activities, social hours, game nites, interactive dinners of all kinds, lots of holiday celebrations, singers, shows etc. The person responsible for making it all happen is Leigh-she is the rockstar coordinator. Pulling off these amazing events for the residents that are actually fun! My mom sure enjoys them and I see the others do too. This really sets this place apart-no way anyone else has a Leigh with such passion, charisma, and love for her residents. The other amenities are nice as well - the restaurant staff helpful and kind, the food is actually good (shout out to chef Authur) and they seem to really care. CJ and Tyler, were always nice to mom-these are 2 that stood out. Monty at the front entry is wonderful.There’s a bar, hair salon (which is so convenient) modern gym, library with computers, game room, nice pool, coffee and water stations and evening security guards which made me feel she was safe. The residence here seem happy (best you can be)from my observation over couple of years.
Now memory care is obviously different. When my mom sadly had to move there, it was a huge change. They do the best they can, but boy is that a tough job. I believe my mom is getting the best care possible, but still tough for me. Luckily, amazing Leigh still does big events, activities, socials, family dinners once a month, making sure the residents get socialization, but many residents are in their own worlds-not sure how she pulls it all off, but she does. My mom seems to be adapting well, just hard for me sometimes to see the decline. Sonata is doing the best they can, with nurses like Vee who are so kind and others who’s names I can’t recall.
I wish mom could’ve stayed in the independent side, but it was time-and she is in the best place I can imaging given her situation. They hire good people and have a great team here - I highly recommend a visit if it’s that time for you…..or a loved one. Most sincerely, Corinne
