This is a very nice base, the dining facilities have amazing chow!, It even has a Burger King and several other fast food places to pick from. If you get sent here you’ll be well taken care of. The USA is number 1!!!!

Went to X-ray School in 80-81. They just built the new medical dorms. They were great. We didn't have to do anything extra but go to school. Great food, nice rooms. Went to what was called the Fiesta Motel right outside the gates on weekends. The things that happened there were just unbelievable. Nobody bothered us.
Very good Times. I'm sure it has changed. The 2 years were transferred back to Lakeland AFB. Again, it was just a complete party time. I'm sure it has all changed now. Medical people always had it better everywhere I went. Free education, free food, health, and dental. stayed until 89. After we had received our orientation and room key, they pointed to the airmans club and told us to get drunk. Great way to start your first day here. Only got better

I went to Pharmacy Tech Training school at Sheppard in 1993. Back then it was a very nice base. It had a movie theater on it. We went to the movies a lot there and the mall in town. I had a very positive experience there. There wasn’t a ton to do. But we were there to learn our new career fields. The food at the chow hall was pretty good. Our dorms were co-ed. Boys one floor, girls another. Training instructors were excellent. I loved their stories. I did my job as a pharmacy tech for 31 years. Did not stay in the Air Force that long. But I had such amazing training there, it made me very valuable in my career field.

I was here in 1994. It was the typical Base. Housing was ok actually building new stuff back then..(now it’s prob old lol) It’s a tech/training base so they’re kind of strict.
They use to say “it’s not Disneyland” and it wasn’t. All and all it was a solid experience.

My son recently graduated from Sheppard AFB and I was able to attend the graduation. Everyone on base was friendly and welcoming. My son had a good experience here and it was a good place for him to attend tech training. The city of Wichita Falls I found clean and the people were friendly. The area around the base isn't the nicest, but get away from the base to the downtown area and it's a very nice city.

Honestly an overall pathetic experience. Horrible leadership. Horrible living experience. No A/C. Room regularly above 80F at night. USAF Complains about retention but then hands out LOCs and LORs like candy for the stupidest offenses. Oh sorry I talked while walking to the dfac for lunch, clearly that means I’m a disgrace to the Air Force and less capable of doing my job!! 😊 yay
