Amazing experience! We had a private full day guided tour with Michael- he was flexible with timing, knowledgeable, and attentive to our experience. His love for and experience with kayaking was evident and this helped us feel comfortable with our first long sea kayak trip. We stopped at several islands for pictures, consulted his map for different routes, and learned about the surrounding area. Highly recommend and would definitely take another tour!

We did a half day guided tour with Michael. There were a total of eight which I thought was perfect for the tour. Michael's calm demeanor made for a relaxing time kayaking to the different islands in the area. It's a small town but the meeting place for the tour is down the road from their kayak shop and to the right- slightly hidden if you've never been there before. Definitely bring some snacks and water to enjoy on the islands. I highly recommend the experience if you're travelling solo or with someone!

Our extended family of 11 took an amazing trip in August with Sea Kayak Stonington in Penobscot Bay, Maine out to Mark Island. Michael and his team took great care of us! A few of our crew had little to no experience with kayaking, but with just a bit of coaching they were able to keep up with the rest of us on the water. I highly recommend a trip with Sea Kayak Stonington!

Sea Kayak Stonington was a fantastic experience! We went out with Rebecca and had a great trip paddling out to several islands in the Deer Isle archipelago near Stonington, Maine! They provided us with top of the line sea kayaks and expert guidance. The area can be tricky to navigate on your own as there are many islands! Going out with Sea Kayak Stonington is the best way to paddle Down East in Maine!!

My daughter and I did a half day guided tour with Michael. It was a very special experience getting to be out on the water, and even explore a few islands (we'd dock and hop on for snacks and go exploring the island). Michael and his team went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time out there, and we were safe. Beautiful area to kayak! Mike and team were very accommodating with our group. We were running very late but were able to paddle after normal closing hours. Equipment was well taken care of. The team had great ideas for itinerary based on our interests/ physical ability.

The staff at Sea Kayak Stonington was amazing and showed us lots of amazing places to explore on our unguided full day kayak tour. The kayaking around Stonington is definitely one of my favorite places to kayak due to all the amazing islands just a short distance away from the launch area.

Best kayaking experience in Down-East.
- Rebecca and Michael go over and beyond (safety, skills teaching when asked, comfort, expertise/guidance that only locals know).
- Kayaks are new, clean, well maintained. They will make sure you have a boat that you feel comfortable in. All of the other equipment (paddles, life vests, etc.) is well maintained and high quality.
- The islands around Stonington (numerous) are fun to explore and wildlife is plentiful (this trip we saw various birds including a bald eagle nest with chicks and seals).
- Affordable Price.
