Our stay at Sand Bar Cottage in Bar Harbor was wonderful. The ambiance was absolutely lovely, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The breakfasts were thoughtfully prepared each morning, with a variety of delicious options that set the perfect tone for the day.

The accommodations were both comfortable and tasteful, with every detail carefully considered to ensure a relaxing experience. A special mention goes to Chris, the Innkeeper, who was always cheerful and incredibly helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile and provided us with excellent recommendations for exploring the local area, making our stay truly memorable.

One of the best aspects is the location, it’s just a 3-minute walk to the downtown shopping area and the wharf, which made it so easy to explore the heart of Bar Harbor without needing a car.

Another lovely touch was the afternoon tea and homemade cake at 3 o’clock, a perfect treat to look forward to after a day of sightseeing. It’s little details like this that set Sand Bar Cottage apart.

I highly recommend a visit to Sand Bar Cottage for anyone seeking a peaceful and charming getaway in Bar Harbor. The four of us will definitely be visiting from Nashville again!

Chris is so wonderfully nice. So welcoming and kind. Breakfast and the pastries to go were delicious. He goes above and beyond - when anyone in our party was torn between two breakfast orders, he simply brought both out! Live music in the evening (Wednesday, Friday) was wonderful, with fire pits and cocktails. Great decor, it’s coastal and cute, with fun quirks (like the cat painting in the lobby), without being over the top - very serene feel throughout. A really wonderful common space on the ground floor with a gas fireplace that we just didn’t get a chance to enjoy! That’s because the location is excellent, just a few minutes walk away from the waterfront, shopping, and restaurants. Also one of few places in bar harbor where you can book one room that sleeps 4, with privacy for 2!

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful b&b for 4 days and 3 nights. The location is perfect and very walkable to nearby restaurants and shops. The room (Acadia King) was in pristine condition and very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, there was even a fireplace. The innkeeper Chris was friendly and went above and beyond to help us feel
Welcomed. Breakfast was always amazing and they always had one vegetarian option per day which I appreciated. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay.

This was my second visit to the Sandbar Cottage Inn and like the first, it was lovely. The location is perfect for walking to the restaurants and shops, the inn and the guest’s rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee and tea always ready. Chris does make everyone feel comfortable and pampered. I highly recommend this with 5 stars all around!

The Sand Bar is hands down the most magical spot on the island. From the moment my husband and I stepped onto the property, we felt an instant connection. Chris, the sweetest innkeeper ever, welcomed us like old friends, and after four nights, that’s exactly what he became. He went above and beyond, making us feel completely at home.

The property is a dream: the beautiful gardens, charming cottages, the welcoming porch, the character of the Inn all weaving together to create a haven of serenity.

Mornings were lovely with amazing breakfasts, and in the afternoons, sweet treats became our little ritual, enjoyed on the porch as we soaked in moments we’ll treasure forever.

Thank you, Chris, for making our stay so incredibly special. We’ll return, not just for the beauty of Sand Bar, but because of the magic you created for us.

Sand Bar Cottage enhanced our trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia so much. To start, the room (Acadia King) was pretty large with a full bathroom suite. Incredibly clean and comfy bed. In the morning there is plenty of coffee options and a sweet or savory breakfast option. All were very good. We talked with Chris (all of these review are so right in saying how great he is) about my wife's nut allergy and he was very accommodating. We were always able to park on site and it's quite literally 2 blocks from downtown, we never needed to worry about parking (which would you need to if you stayed outside of walking distance). Also you are directly across the street from the sand bar that connects to Bar Island. The sand bar is only above water during low tide and Bar Island is a part of the National Park. Great little hike. There are cookies, wine, etc offered during the day but we were too busy exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia to take advantage of that. We will absolutely stay here again next time we visit Bar Harbor!

Overall our stay at Sand Bar Cottege was amazing. Chris the innkeeper is friendly and provided a great service. Breakfast each morning is 2 options that were always delicious, tea and coffee is readily available. At 3pm the afternoon tea is a welcome recharge. The location is perfect for walking to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia (only a few minutes drive) .

I died & went to heaven! From the first chat w/ Chris to the final cup of tea, this place was perfection!! My cottage was clean & beautiful & quiet. The main house was glorious! Comfortable & inviting with fireplace and beverages & snacks. EVERYTHING was first class, including the delicious breakfast. The location was perfect because you could easily walk along the water to the center of town with all its activities, but return to your own quiet oasis! Easy access to Acadia National Park, too! Chris is hilarious & kind & an instant bestie! 😂 What a find! I'll be back for a longer stay!
