Amazing experience from the moment we walked thru the front door. Sydney greeted us w a big smile and Sandy was very nice and friendly. Comfortable beds. Nice big warm heated indoor pool. Great location. Clean and comfy. Plenty of restaurants in a square mile. We will be back. Thank Yoi.

My husband and I stayed at The Bangor Grande for about 12 nights in early March. We chose it mostly for the price. We also wanted a pool, especially since March weather in Bangor isn't always conducive to outdoor activities.||The hotel was ok for the price. The staff was mostly friendly, although I did overhear a conversation at the front desk that should have been private between an employee and “the boss” as she referred to herself. From the website description, I expected the hotel to be a little nicer. The main areas were clean, but other places looked grungy. ||The room was clean with a comfortable bed. We appreciated the bottled water. Instead of individual coffee makers in the room, a common coffee station was set up in the lobby. It was well supplied and included a microwave. We could control the heat in our room but found it tricky to set it just right, not too hot, not too cold.||The hotel provided soap, shampoo, make-up wipes, and a hair dryer. Towels were clean. The shower was not hot the first morning, but after that, it was plenty hot. The toilet paper was cheap and scratchy.||The pool was ok. During our arrival and on the following weekend, a children's pool party took place. We liked that we could invite our son and his family to enjoy the pool with us. The pool was less busy on weekdays. The pool deck had pieces of cheese (left from a party?) and hair. I would not call the pool area “an oasis,” as the hotel's website states. It's a basic pool area.||The exercise room had an old treadmill and NordicTrac bike. Neither looked as if they had recently been wiped clean, and there was no spray cleaner that I could see to wipe the machines down before or after use. The exercise room was extremely warm.||The side entrance area was littered with cigarette butts and other trash along the perimeter of the parking lot. The trash could have been left behind by melting snow banks, but still. You'd think someone would walk around the building every day to inspect and pick up trash.||Despite a sign on the door asking people to smoke away from the entrance, almost every time we went in and out, someone, usually a couple of people, were smoking near the door.||Another disappointment we experienced was the slow wifi. It interrupted both tv streaming and Internet activity on our laptops, tablets, or phones. We had to turn wifi off and use our data plans a few times to accomplish tasks.||I wanted this to be a good experience. It wasn't horrible, just disappointing because the details I noticed would not take much money or effort to fix. More attention to detail and a more pride in how the property looks could make a huge difference.||If you usually prefer high-end and posh, this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for economy and can overlook the untidy appearance, then The Bangor Grande will be a fine hotel for you.||

After discovering hotels in Bar Harbor were either completely booked or way out of our price range we looked for a place to stay elsewhere. Although this hotel is an hour away from Bar Harbor it was a good stay. It’s close to the airport but we didn’t hear any loud noises. Check in and out was quick. The room was clean and did the job as we were only there to sleep. The hotel is located just off the highway and is easy to get to. A point off because there was no elevator (at least that we were told of) so we had to lug our suitcases up a flight of stairs. Additionally we were given the impression that there was free continental breakfast but there wasn’t. The hotel does provide 10% off coupons for the breakfast area so that’s something. Felt a bit more expensive than what it was worth but it was good and we had few options.

Their website said 24/7 shuttle service. I booked a room because my flight did not land until 11:30 pm. I called the hotel to be sure they had 24/7 shuttle service and was assured they did. I called the hotel when we boarded the flight and asked where we could find the shuttle. The man told me to call when we landed and the shuttle would come for us. We called when we landed and were told they would call an Uber because their shuttle does not run at night. It took over 30 minutes for the Uber to arrive. I do not recommend staying at this hotel

We stayed at the Bangor Grande Hotel and Conference Center July 4th weekend. We booked the Presidential Suite as we were in the area for a concert and wanted to have an elevated experience. ||A few things: |The hotel markets themselves very well - pictures beautiful, website - great! However, when we arrived the experience was very lackluster. ||1. Overall the hotel is old and outdated. Small improvements could be made to elevate the look and guest experience. |2. Wifi is basically non-existent. A router/modem was right outside our room but not actively working. We brought this up to two different front desk staff, but nothing was done. |3. The room: For a presidential suite it was very basic. We noticed stains on the lamp shades in both the living area of the suite and the bedroom area, missing pieces of carpet. The main door to the room is also very thin, meaning you can hear everything as people walk by.||We chose this hotel as it was a short distance away from the concert venue, close to other attractions we wanted to check out. With the Canadian Exchange rate, I wouldn't consider it worth the price.

Overall the room was comfortable and well put together - recently renovated. The lounge on site was affordable and friendly. Frequent panhandlers outside. Would be nice to have a few picnic tables outside for guests to use. Prepare for lots of walking to some of the rooms.

I visited Bangor on a Stephen King nerdy trip and stopped for four nights at the Bangor Grande, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.||Having forgotten to check about the hotel shuttle bus service before landing at Bangor International, I made one quick phone call and the guy who mans the front desk in the evening (Michael?) was there within ten minutes. A big shout out to him by the way, could not have been more accommodating and a credit to the hotel.||The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious and the location was only ten minutes drive to get in to Bangor - and two minutes if you are doing the Stephen King bus tour. If you’re a fan, don’t miss that, it was awesome.||Four nights in Bangor was probably one too many, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is heading to town.
