Extremely Disappointed with Progress Village Apartments

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Progress Village Apartments was so terrible that I had to share it. I paid the admin and application fees for absolutely nothing because they completely failed to do their job.

I provided all the required documents—proof of employment, bank statements, a cover letter, and even my husband’s paperwork. Yet, they dragged me along for two whole weeks without giving me a clear answer. Every single day, I called to ask for updates, only to be told, “I’ll let them know, and they’ll call you back.” Guess what? No one ever called back.

Kevin, who seems to be their “go-to” person, is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. He never had answers, didn’t seem to care, and couldn’t even manage simple follow-ups. They claim they use third-party companies to verify documents, but then I found out emails were being sent to my workplace from Kevin’s personal email. What a joke!

I’m actually relieved we didn’t end up in this community. Another complex approved us within 13 hours—that’s how things should work. They respected the fact that we’re responsible tenants who lived in our previous community for over two years, always paying on time.

Progress Village Apartments, on the other hand, wasted my time, my money, and my energy. Lora, Kevin, and some guy named Al? All completely unprofessional. Because of their incompetence, your company lost out on $1,700 a month from a reliable family. I guess this company doesn’t care about money—or maybe they get paid in candy because they clearly don’t take their jobs seriously.

And the fees I paid? That’s money I’ll never get back. You should refund me immediately. This experience was beyond unacceptable.

Kevin S. is an amazing person. I spent a month helping my sister search for apartments before visiting Progress Village. Despite arriving just before closing time, Kevin didn't show any signs of irritation or have an attitude. He explained everything well and even entertained my 1-year-old while we looked around the apartment. The apartment complex has really nice amenities, including elevators, air conditioning as soon as you enter any building, and cool security features. The apartments speak for themselves, but Kevin's bubbly spirit and demeanor add to it! Thank you, Kevin, for being so nice to my sister and me. We greatly appreciate you!

I have never in the past 2 decades in apartment living met a more friendly helpful and courteous staff than the entire team at Progress Village they are always kind considerate and professional. Al, Laura, Kevin and Gicensia carry such friend and outgoing personalities i will def be renewing my lease with them for another year. Also the place is clean, kept well and the maintenance team is top notch. Thank you guys!!!

I absolutely love the staff here, they are the definition of going above and beyond. I’ve renewed my lease 3xs and part of that decision was based on how amazing they are. Kevin and Laura, thank you for all that you do for the residents here.

I have been a visitor recently of a tenant that lives here and in the short time that they have lived here they are ready to move out. I use to wonder why there were so many vacancies but now i know why. Anyone can walk on property from the main road which is Faulkenberg Rd into the complex because its not gated. I have seen several aggressive breed of dogs on property which is a bit alarming. There is a stray cat that apparently several people are feeding that you can smell the spray it leaves. The stairwells are disguesting and are filthy. There are also residents that will plug their car into the electric charging station and leave it there all day and never return for more than 8 hours unattended. There has been several areas around the property with dog poop and the pet owners dont pick up the dog poop. One area in particular the dog poop was white which means its sat there for weeks. The hallways have carpet so when you place your trash outside your door any liquid will runoff and stains the carpet and leaves a rancid smell. Im not sure who is in charge but the manager is not managing those running this place. You are better looking elsewhere.

I’ve been living in Progress Village for three years now. I’ve lived in many other communities in Florida before, but none have provided me with the comfort and convenience that this one offers. The staff here is incredibly attentive and helpful! Thank you to everyone!
