My food stamps were stolen and have been trying for 2 weeks to get help from them and report my stamps stolen. Cannot get any one on the phone to report this. They just keep given another number to call or another web site to go to. No help at all. The State of Georgia needs to do something with this place. Needs new staff. Needs new everything. I would be ashamed of myself if i went to school to be a social worker and treated people the way Cedartown DFACS treats people by not answering phones, being rude and may God help them if they were to ever be in a situation where they need help. Wr all need to find out who to report them to and all of us send in to report them. Does anybody ever read these reviews? People from the state?

0 STARS if I could. This place has changed drastically over the years. You could actually call your local office to speak to someone and most of the time, you knew who your caseworker was and were able to reach them. Now, you can't even get these people to call you when they say they will. I have never seen anything like this. I have been waiting since March now, with a completed renewal and two different applications- one of which the local office had me fill out on paper in person so that they could help get it done but to no avail bc I finally got another phone appointment for today at 10:30. I was literally looking at my phone the entire time to make sure I didn't miss this call and NO ONE CALLED! This is beyond frustrating!! 😤

It's pathetic when someone fills out an application for help with food and get 2 text saying 2 different appointments 1 day apart and don't even get a call either day!! Then check the status and have been denied benefits because being homeless with no income apparently is above their limit to help 😩💔!

The rude lady at the desk was so hateful and rude. If she doesn’t want her job then why is she there? Absolutely ridiculous, she took my number and said a supervisor would call me in 24/78 hours. 1 week later no call. And they will not answer the phones at all! 😡

Far too many times we hear about the negatives of the Family and Children Services but I’m hear to deliver some positive to what these people do. Ms. Moore and Ms.Kasie are awesome!
I’ve was accused of child abuse and negelecting my children and GOD KNOWS that I am totally innocent of all charges. I’ve done nothing but love and care for my step children ever since I entered into their lives 15 years ago but Polk County Law Enforcement thinks otherwise. I have been charged twice, (lost 2 $100,000/yr jobs) because of Polk County Sheriffs Departments’ determination to make me out to be the bad guy and just throwing me in jail when I’ve done nothing but love my step kids. I was even told, by an officer, not to call the police or he would get Dfcs involved.
Well guess what, DFCS was involved and it was the best thing that could’ve happened. Ms. Moore and Ms. Kasie conducted a thorough investigation and found out everything about the case and cleared me of all wrong doings!!!!!!!!
As for the case. I’m sure Polk County will still try to prosecute me for something because I’m a 51 yr old Black Male, what else would I expect, but as far as the Polk County Dfcs Department, I give nothing but high praises for their hard work determination. THANK YOU

It's pretty tough to get an actual person to speak with you and the doors are closed to the public at least for the foreseeable future. They typed up a letter to me for something, dated it, stated that my telephone conference was scheduled for the following day (the mail takes at least a solid two days to be delivered) and then early in the morning on Veterans Day (aren't state and government institutions closed on state holidays?) I missed a call from them. The letter didn't arrive until the following day (we all know mail doesn't run on Veterans Day). Luckily they were willing to work with me and I got a second letter a couple of days ago. But it required that I call yet another phone number where no one answers and I keep having to leave voice-mails. So...hopefully things will work out 🤞

Turned in my renewal a month prior to it being due and it's almost thanksgiving and still nothing 🤣 this place is a joke. I was told yesterday that it was going to be done and still nothing... They claim their understaffed but I call b*** I think they're just lazy since they don't hardly ever answer their phones.
