Pool was really fun. I love that it’s shallow all the way, great for the kids and for relaxing. Kayaking was fun and the area is beautiful! The wildlife is prominent and the water is so cool to the touch. We loved the yard games with our son. Our room had the amenities we needed. Location is great and the downtown area is about 5 minutes down the way with great eateries and coffee shops!

Negatives… The floors are filthy and a lot of this place needs updating or renovation. Getting food on sight is a lengthy process. There is no sense of urgency with the kitchen staff. Thankfully we did get a refund after waiting 40 minutes for a meal. The pool chairs are unraveling and there’s trash occasionally on the grounds of the plantation. Unfortunately saw no manatees on our tour…were on tour almost 3 hours and only got 10 minutes in the water. The pool toys are locked in a nondescript closet, so not regularly available for the kids to use in the pool. No one seems to be staffing that regularly.

You can tell this place was really nice 20+ years ago. Now, not so much. Went up with family for scalloping. While the room was big, it was in disrepair. Ants/flys in all of the rooms. There is a consistent dirty diaper smell in some of the buildings we walked through to get to our room. The food we got at the restaurants on site tasted good, but was almost always cold by the time it was delivered to the table. Understaffed? Stay at the hampton across the street. I would imagine it’s much cleaner, definitely cheaper and free continental breakfast.

From the front desk to our room, across the campus smelled of mold, our allergies were raging. The room ok except for the price we paid the linens and dirty groat, the shower blasting out scalding hot water, toilets flushed poorly, I thought I was in a days in, not a resort that I paid 241 plus tax plus 28 resort fees. The doors did not lock in each section at night, our doors were hard to close and open, due to this place needs heavily redone. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Full service resort and golf, was built in 1960’s has a very nostalgic vibe. This place is truly a gem, the rooms are clean, too notch service and food. Activities for all ages.

Recently stayed here, there was nothing in the confirmation or or booking showing check in or check out time but we assumed 4pm. We got to the resort with at noon with the idea of going out on the boat and springs until 4. We let the front desk know we were there and knew we were early they said they would try to expidite cleaning to maybe have the room ready before 4. At 4:15 we tried to check in and room was still not ready At 7:05pm we were finally able to check into our room ruining our dinner plans as we did not have time to get changed and ready for dinner. After checkin and we got to our rooms out of no were we had a man walk into our room without knocking or anything saying he was there to change the airconditioner filter, luckley no one was in the shower or changing in the room. While walking down the main hall we witnessed the (cleaning crew) in a room all sitting on chairs and beds eating and vaping in the room they were "cleaning". We desided to eat at the on site resturaunt which only had 5 dishes on the menu and was told that the chef will not deviate or substitute anything. The room we stayed in had a 4 gallon dehumidifire in it that would require to be emptied every 5-6 hours which was concerning. The 2nd night there we asked for an extra pillow and bed sheet to which we were told they did not have extras. We stayed 3 nights and house keeping did not come the entire time until the last evening just to ask if we needed towels. I was told I would be credited for a portion of my stay due to the late check in but they billed my card the full amount and I to dispute the charge on my credit card. The resort seems to be running down hill as multiple guest also voicing many issues. Do yourself a favor and just get a Airbnb or VRBO house stay away from Plantation Inn

This place is a mixed bag and has a ton of potential. This place could easily be a 4 star + given some work. It is old and it needs a complete retrofit but the rooms were relatively large, and it was nice to have a patio to have breakfast or an evening drink at. There is a canal about 30 yards from the hotel, more like a river, I was unable to sleep one night and was a happily surprised by some manatees coming up for air while I was walking along the path.
Front desk staff, one woman was great, awesome attitude. The other one with the heavy eyeliner.... not so much...
Restaurant needs a good manager, we ate there twice, lunch one day, service was ok, food was fine, not many patrons while we were there and only saw our waitress when she served the food and drink and the check. Breakfast was ridiculous. Took over thirty minutes for a breakfast burrito and two scrambled eggs. Coffee was never refilled and we had to ask for the water to be refilled. Again, barely anyone in the restaurant.
The tiki bartender was great, she took care of a lot of customers and remembered their drinks and made them well.
Pool area was really nice.
The manatee swim was awesome and the reason we selected this hotel. However, their dive shop is advertised as a full dive shop, uses dive flags and has pictures of scuba diving. They do not offer scuba diving... I assumed (mistake on my part) I would be able to charter scuba dives at the hotel. This should be made clear on the website. Big negative for me when I was told they don't offer scuba at a desk with a GIANT scuba dive flag hanging on the wall.
