Fun place for a few hours adventure. We took the ferry over and were able to rent a golf cart to drive around the island twice in 2 hour rental. (Try to book ahead) Lots of options for food. Can also rent bikes to get around island. To save money there is a grocery store to buy food and drinks for cheaper than restaurants.

To get to Peak Island, go to Casco Bay Pier. There you will buy your tickets to and back. It's about $7.50 for an adult round trip. Senior citizens are free. It's about a 15-minute ferry. The ferry is pretty smooth rides. Once you arrive at Peak Island. I would recommend renting a bicycle to bike the island. The island is not that big. Pretty do it in an hour. Go to this place called Brad's Recycle Bike Shop. It's about 2 bucks for 1 to 2 hours rental. It's well worth it. Right now, he doesn't have credit card payments. So we filled out the form and dropped the money. It's an honor system.
Don't rent a golf cart. 100 bucks for 2 hrs. I feel that riding a bicycle, you get to enjoy it more. The east side of the island is much better with the ocean view.
Definitely bring sunblock, water, and some snacks. The public bathroom is next Brad Recycle Bike shop. Peak Island is worth a day trip.

If you’re visiting Portland, definitely take the ferry over to Peak’s island! You can decide how long you want to stay and explore this beautiful location and the ferry ride itself provides great views of the bay and city. We had a great time exploring, even with the cooler weather.
