I had a co-pay over two insurances, i paid for the co-pay before they check my son in. Upon checking out the staff doesn't like to release written prescription without paying for it. We had been gone to different eye clinic and an optician is obliged to provide you with the written prescription following the eye examination.

My child has been seeing Dr. Gonzalez for over 5 years now. Our visits are always pleasant. The front desk is always friendly and welcoming. My daughter even likes going early if she can so that she can "relax" and read a book and watch a movie in the waiting room. I have never seen a better wait time. I have never waited for more than 5 minutes! When we check in early, we even get seen early. My child enjoys going to this doctor and that is all that matters to me. She has been getting her prescription glasses from this facility as well and she is always happy with the attention to detail that the staff provides. Even though she reaches for the first pair that catches her eye, they take the time to measure it on her face and speak with her about options that are best for her facial frame. I love that the staff and doctor speak to my child and ask her opinion because she is the one that will be wearing them not me. My child is treated with respect and kindness and she always looks forward to her next visit. Dr. Gonzalez is efficient, friendly, intelligent and great with kids! I couldn't ask for a better Ophthalmologist for my child.

After many unsuccessful attempts to communicate with the dr and his staff in any normal and appropriate manner, we have found care elsewhere. I was told I didn't have benefits for a second pair of glasses from the office and had to call VSP to school them otherwise. I was told to pick frames out from a ton of options and then the techs ordered the wrong size for my 2y old daughter (I am assuming by accident), yet blaming me for the mixup and eating my benefit. I had to get my benefit back from VSP (which they gave me, they felt badly for the experience) and left the practice. The office didn't even have the courtesy to let me know they were mailing me back my wrong sized glasses, and it went to my old mailing address which inconveniently yet miraculously found their way to my correct address. Being treated as a parent/ human is not the norm here. They are also never there. Just to leave the practice, I waited 3 weeks to have my records transferred and waited outside the office for 20min at 9am on a weekday to wait for the manager to open the door and in a huff, give me my own child's copy of a script.

It's cool that the dr doesnt "have to" dilate but it's also not super accurate with the prescription end, I have learned. If you have vision only concerns, I recommend anywhere but here. If you have other concerns, we aren't too far from Stanford. Really horrendous experiences and horrible, horrible people skills all around.

Brought my 4 year old here for a second opinion on her prescription. We were seen very quickly and everyone was friendly from the moment we walked in. My daughter was more calmed by seeing that the office was welcoming to children. I never felt pressured to buy glasses they had. They helped me with any questions I had and were very sweet to my daughter. They have a huge selection of kid glasses to pick from and even some flexible frames for kids. This location is a bit of a drive for me but it’s worth it.

Just returned for my yearly eye exam. Nothing has changed in the excellent care I always have received in the past. Dr. Gonzalez now has even more people in the office, and it goes smoother than ever. He is always very professional, but makes sure you feel welcomed and comfortable on every visit.

Doctor is extremely rude, doesn’t explain anything. Has poor communication skills. He stated “he’s going to need glasses” and I had to ask why, i don’t read minds unfortunately. he was being rude saying he gave me some information the previous visit which he did not. I later found out he was my doctor and did the same thing to me when i was little, he was even rude back then.

Dr. Gonzalez Gustavo is extraordinary. His expertise goes far beyond the delivery of glasses and he takes great care to do the most possible to diagnose any eye health problems. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in term I could understand.
Very friendly staff I have a problem with one of my glasses Cindy ordered new glasses for me without any charge.
I would highly recommended Dr Gonzalez Gustavo to everyone.

After my 3 year old failed her exam at her 3 year well check up at the pediatrician’s office we were sent to Dr. Gonzalez. He gave her a prescription (glasses) and we saw him a few times after that. Before we moved out of state he told us that her eyes were abnormally bad for a 3 year old, her vision had gotten worse with the glasses, and that we needed to have her eyes dilated and see a new doctor when we moved. To make a long story short, we saw our new eye doctor and we were told that in order to get an accurate prescription dilation is necessary, and that indeed her eyes had gotten worse because her prescription was wrong. She had been walking around with the wrong prescription for almost
a year, and the new doctor said she was surprised she didn’t have headaches or other problems from the prescription being too strong. I’ve called Dr. Gonzalez’s office several times and even though I was told he would, I have not received a call to explain his failure to order proper testing that is within the standard of care which led to an incorrect diagnosis. If you choose to see Dr. Gonzalez please be mindful of this and get a second opinion.
