We did the 90 minute trolley tour. What a great experience. Troy was our tour driver and being a local he had all the inside knowledge and was so informative. Such a great personality he had us laughing the entire time. Beautiful properties to see. We then took the free bus over to the Cliffwalk. We went from Forty Stairs up to Ledge St. From there it was maybe 2 blocks to a bus stop and back to Travel Center. Make sure to get a parking ticket voucher from bus driver. Our parking bill went from $27 to $5.

My tour was great, the seats were comfy and my guide was very knowledgeable. He told us funny stories of the some of the newer residents of New Port and much of the cities history. He also gave advice on hot spots to visit, great restaurants to eat and places to avoid.

The narrated tour takes you around Newport. It's worth it to see and hear about the many highlights. Our tour included a walking tour of the Breakers (Vanderbilt's Mansion). That was nice, I'm glad we included it.

My only gripe is the trolley is not hop-on, hop-off. It starts and ends at the same spot.

We had a great time on this tour exploring New Port. Our driver, Rob, was very entertaining and knowledgeable. I enjoyed listening to his stories and historical facts about the city. I was pleasantly surprised by how much there actually was to see in RI. The tour was a perfect length of time (90 minutes roundtrip of driving with a 90 minute stop at The Breakers). The mansion was beautiful and definitely worth seeing. The trolley was comfortable and on schedule which was important as we had a cruise ship to catch at the port. The tour was also a short walk from the port (about 15 minutes) which made it easy to get to. I booked this tour through Viator and the price was much more affordable and had more to offer than the tours offered through our cruise-line sponsored excursions with Princess.

A great tour with a knowledge and fun driver.
It is a nice way to get a quick overview of Newport’s history and geography. The Breaker’s tour was interesting but busy. The grounds are wonderful with ocean views.

Unfortunately, I was only able to visit the Duke mansion, Rough Point. Upon entering the grounds, your eyes are paralyzed by the view; the scene is dreamily breathtaking. The well placed bench on the grounds allows for solo contemplation or creativity, If for no other reason to visit, you must experience the grounds. Photos are from Cliff Walk.

Our tour guide Rob did an amazing job telling us about the wonderful history of the mansions and other history of Newport RI. Will definitely book this again when we come back with the kids.

Trolley Rob was great! Very timely, extremely knowledgeable about all things Newport, with a side of humor that I appreciated. Comfy seats, perfect temperature during the drive... A great way to learn all there is to know about the area for first timers like us. Highly recommend!
