ETA- I did break my lease. I paid one of the two months to break the lease prior to move out and at move out she charged an additional 2 months on top of what was already paid. And is attempting to charge several thousand in damages. Her response to this review claims that she will send pictures however I er 24 hrs.prior to this review I had already emailed asking for pictures and an itemized bill of the damage charges to which she has not replied, but again took time to reply to the review. I will post pictures to this review of the apartment when I left. Her reply to this review is a quicker response than you will ever get as a resident, if you ever get one. I also asked for a move out checklist prior to move out which she did not provide. (Please see pictures for what $3000 in damages looks like.)

If I could give zero stars I would. I lived here for almost 4 years. I was happy with my apartment, they are older and def have some issues and lots of flaws but for the price at the time I was willing to overlook the flaws. The real issues did not begin until the new property manager took over. Her name is Elizabeth Holmes. I was kind and courteous to her throughout my stay because I first handedly saw how absolutely horrific of a person she could be. Keep in mind I was not directly impacted by her, so my review is just my honest assessment of what I saw happening. She came in and immediately started not renewing peoples leases without explanation. Yes, legally she is not obligated to give one, however common courtesy when you are kicking someone out of their home is to provide some feedback so that they can have the ability to try and work on whatever the reason was. She also came in and started inspections, which I am all for making sure that people are keeping up their spaces. However, these inspections included going through peoples belongings such as cabinets and drawers. These events had the whole neighborhood on edge, nobody should have to feel threatened regarding a place that they live and pay for without substantial reason. There were people getting 7 day notices to fix things like blinds (cheap blinds that the apartment had provided) or they would be evicted.

I was told stories of people having issues at move out with her trying to charge astronomical fees. This is the one thing that she was able to try with me. I had moved out of a 2 bedroom and into a 3 bedroom just over a year prior to move out and was refunded my security deposit bc I left the apartment in good condition. I left the 3 bedroom in the same condition and she is trying to charge me thousands. I have been in contact with other previous tenants who are experiencing the same.

What was once a community that I was proud to call home has turned into somewhere that I would not recommend anyone live. While she has been so worried about things like blinds and charging insane move out fees, she is neglecting things such as the trash on the grounds and amenities being in working order. There are also people without working appliances, a friend went over a month without a working fridge, but don't have company because they will tow their vehicle.

There are several complexes in neighboring towns that offer so much more for the same price range, please reach out to them before Mountainside, at least until the current property manager is gone. Do not put yourself through the emotional distress that we had to endure with her and now the financial burden of hiring legal representation to fight her on the move out costs she is trying to claim.

I absolutely love living here. We just moved in and we WILL be staying for a very long time. Elizabeth in the leasing office is so nice and helpful. She’s always got so much on her plate but stops to help when we come into leasing office. If I could do more than a 5 star review I definitely would!!!

My Property Manager, Elizabeth is the best. She works with you, is great at communicating with you, and is very professional. She did her best to respond for any questions or concerns, even after the office was closed. Elizabeth is impressive and the best PM I've ever dealt with!!!! The staff and maintenance guys are hard working and see to it that all problems and concerns are met! Thank you!!!

We moved in 2.5 months ago. Elizabeth and the office staff were great through the whole process. They have done lots of renovations and upgrades to the apartments and the complex as a whole. The maintenance staff is kind and very responsive. We absolutely love living here!

We've got a 3 bedroom and 2 bath apartment that we really love and we enjoy the area. Elizabeth and everyone has been very helpful to us, and we would certainly recommend Mountainside Manor to anyone.

Living here was a nightmare. More than one time I woke up in my apartment with strange men from maintenance having already entered my home. They do not care about your privacy. It's been a year since I've moved out and I received a call today from a collection agency saying that I owe Mountainside Manor money, but I had not heard anything from Mountainside Manor directly. They had forgotten to have me sign a new lease, and that I moved out when there was no signed lease from me in their system. Please be aware that you have no privacy at this complex, and they will try to ruin your credit if you leave.

You don't not want to rent from this place. Office managers are the worst when it comes to doing there jobs and also push the weight around. Will turn ur cameras off in ur house and steal from you. Beware of these people. Also trash is always piled up.

Quick, smooth and helpful! Got a great unit and Elizabeth made the process a smooth transition. Been a few months and have had no issues with the unit and getting help with maintenance.
