In the span of 4 days we went on a mission to find the best pies in the area and after many contenders, Mount Desserts won all. We originally bought just a blueberry pie but felt it was so good that we went back before leaving and got another and a strawberry rhubarb to match. For those who are pie lovers, they were flaky, buttery, and not too sweet, and the main focus was the fresh fruit and lots of it. Would definitely suggest and hope more people find out about it as it seems to be a hidden gem that we thankfully stumbled upon!

We didn’t go for the atmosphere. It is a detached residential garage.

But we are glad we don’t live closer.
We are pie people. We purchased 2 pies ( 1 mixed berry & 1 straw rhubarb)
Already bought 2 blueberry elsewhere.

But the strawberry rhubarb is the best we have had. Not too sweet, real whole fruit, held together well.
Crust substantial but not too thick, not too oily, not too salty, not too sweet. The crust did not overtake the fruit.

Mixed berry good too. ( almost as good as Marion’s pie shop on cape cod)

And so fresh. We shared over the next 2 weeks and good as day 1.

Absolutely DELICIOUS blueberry pie! We're visiting Maine & were looking for a blueberry pie to bring back to our Airbnb....found this spot & all the reviews are accurate. Best blueberry pie we've ever had! One of my friends had never tried blueberry pie before and this was such a good place to go. The ladies were super nice too

I love pie, especially fruit pies - they’re probably my favorite dessert. I make pies from scratch for family holiday dinners (I’m a hobbyist, but take it seriously!). I can easily say that the wild Maine blueberry pie from Mount Desserts is the best pie I have ever had. I will literally dream about this pie. I’m not normally a huge fan of blueberry pie, but am a convert for the tiny wild blueberries that are the star (I usually prefer the crust to the filling, but this filling really shines). The tartness of the filling (which is so dense with the berries) and the flaky crust are a perfect combination. The baker-owner was really kind, and you could tell she was hard working (it was the off season and she said she had made 50 pies that day!). Also the smell upon entering the bakery barn is AMAZING. The bakery location is somewhat easy to miss (the Google Maps directions led us to the exit rather than the entrance), but it’s conveniently near downtown Bar Harbor (perfect for vacation food!). As a note, payment is only cash or Venmo (if you have spotty cell service on MDI like I did, there’s WiFi to connect to Venmo). I thought I was going overboard buying two pies but now that I’m home I wish I’d bought more!

I never EVER leave reviews on google but this deserves one. The best blueberry pie - actually the best pie of any kind - that I have ever eaten. The pie isn’t overly sweet, it is SO full of blueberries that it must have weighed 2-3 pounds, the pie crust is flaky and homemade, not too much gelatin/pectin filling. Absolutely NOTHING manufactured from a factory in this pie. It is truly the best blueberry pie you’ll ever taste. The owner is lovely - friendly, and welcoming and happy to chat as she gets your warm pie straight from the back. You can’t miss this hidden gem in bar harbor!

We saw their sign on the side of the road and made a quick u-turn. You know how sometimes the best parts of a vacation are unexpected little treasures you stumble upon? This qualifies for sure. These two sisters are friendly as can be and they make delicious pie. The blueberry was so so good that we had to go back for a second pie a couple days later! I can attest to the strawberry rhubarb flavor as well. Both pies were flavorful with rich, buttery crust and neither was too sweet! Make it a stop and you won’t regret it!

Delicious blueberry pie! Bought it in the morning on our way to Acadia. It was still warm. Ate it after a day of hiking. There was a little leftover the next morning and it was great for breakfast too.

We saw the sign on one of our drives while on vacation and thought what the heck, we will stop on our way back and we are very happy we did. We chose a mixed berry pie and I believe they had Blueberry, Mixed berry and Strawberry Rhubarb. Ours was boxed nice and warm and we could just feel the love when she said she bakes pies all day.
Now to the pie. First, delicious, fresh, fruity, superb pie, the crust on bottom was like one grandma would make, it was crisp and buttery, but not dried out like a store pie which is dry and meh, this pie was buttery and flakey for the bottom crust which made me only want more. The top crust was soft and crusty at the same time, sorcery I tell you. The filling of the pie held together perfectly when we cut it, it didn't all fall out and go everywhere, it stayed perfectly when we cut it back at our hotel. And the pie was HUGE.
Very well worth it. Thank you again for this pie. It was delicious.
