A nice place, nice views, massive rooms, though they're dirty. Not overall dirty, seemingly clean sheets, etc. but vents, windows, certain areas in all the rooms I've seen are clearly not being cleaned or bothered with at all. Mold doesn't occur from 1-2 stays of someone 'dragging in dust', for example. ***

This stay, however, there was another guest whose car alarm went off REPEATEDLY for the ENTIRE night. Started before 6pm and was still at it after 6 a.m. the following morning. The staff refused to address it. Why is it acceptable for one guest to cause the entire rest of the place worth of guests to not sleep***

This review is updated due to the gaslighting response I received. No, things weren't dirty because 'dust was dragged in from the trail'. I mean, certainly that could contribute, but if this is how they got dirty, it was over several months or maybe years worth of stays.
I've stayed at this inn more than once. Overall, it's a nice place, in a nice area. However, there absolutely are areas (at least in all the rooms I've been in) that no one bothers to clean, they're clearly doing the bare minimum but overall being rather negligent. These areas include, but are not limited to the examples I listed here. (Not sure it's worth my time to list them all when the resort management is just going to deny it's a thing and try to gaslight me haha)

As for the car alarm situation, obviously, I can clearly see and hear the difference between a vehicle which is in the parking lot, vs a vehicle that is passing by on the road. And ascertain the difference between an alarm that goes off 2x per hour for a period of 12 hours, and something "passing by on the road". And you WERE notified during the stay and were not "happy to help". It's really easy to reply to reviews with non-truths though, so I guess, have at it if that's how you run your business. Right out your back door is a small inlet! Beautiful view even from the bottom floor. As a former hotel maid, I can say the room was very clean. It's kinda like having you or own small cabin. There is a fore pit, but we visited in fall/winter so we didn't get to enjoy the outside much. If your visiting or passing through i would recommend this adorable inn. Walking distance to Hing garden restaurant and a gas station. Only a few minutes to the grocery store and dollar stores. Staff was helpful and kind. No breakfast or pool, but they don't need either to win my vote. First time in Machias and it was a good experience.

This place was amazing. Rooms were awesome and very clean. The twin brothers are both so nice. We rented a UTV from them as well. We had a great experience for our first time in Maine. Everything you need is very close to this place too. We are sad to leave.

This place is a gem! Ryle and his crew have done an amazing job renovating the motel, no expense spared. Rooms are clean and staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. We have stayed here 15 nights in the last few years and have seen a huge transformation from a very comfortable motel to a class A Inn. We always try and get a king room with a view of the water. Microwave, fridge, full bathtub with brand new shower stall, individual mitsubishi HVAC in every room, and a really cool electric fireplace. Right next to one of the best restaurants downeast (Helen's), added bonus for us our daughter's apartment right next door. We snowmobile and ATV right from our room. Plenty of room to park trailers. BTW they rent ATVs right there. A shout out to Ryle and Angela who always go above and beyond to accommodate us. Also they have added a new gift store which is soon to feature baked goods.

Great location on the river. We were on the first floor behind the restaurant. Parked in front of the room's door and out the back sliders to the river. Gas firepit for guest to use. Very comfortable room/bed. The office had large muffins for purchase or you can go to the independent restaurant sharing the parking lot. Their food is very good. Big pieces of pie to tempt you for dessert!

Beautiful property. Super neat and clean. Amazing attention to detail. Unreal views. This hotel and location is worth the drive for a get-a-way weekend or corporate retreat. They have ATV rentals on site to cruise the world-renowned Sunrise Trail.

The Inn’s hidden gem it the views from the rear deck. The doors have digital keypads, so no keys, liked this feature. Food at Mason’s across the street was good. The rooms have recently been renovated. Would recommend this inn and will stay here again.
