My husband & I began renting here in July 2023. We started having issues from the beginning.

MAINTENANCE:

The flooring wasn’t level & we were told it would be fixed before move in. On move in day Terrell (assistant property manager) said they couldn’t fix it! This was only cosmetic so we didn’t harp on it.

Then the brackets that held our dishwasher to the countertop weren’t secure, so it literally fell out of the cabinet. Then it wasn’t draining & water was pooling in the bottom. We’d been there hardly two days, yet maintenance said it was our fault somehow.

The pegs in our kitchen cabinet weren’t supportive/level. In the process of fixing it, maintenance tore off sections of paint & didn’t fix it.

Our smoke alarm went off every time we used the stove. Maintenance told us ‘they’re old apartments’ yet ours was the only one in the building doing this. They UNPLUGGED them without telling us which is so dangerous & negligent! We didn’t know until weeks later.

There have been sewer backups in the building, causing water to leak out of the base of the toilet & sewage to back up in the bathtub.

Our upstairs neighbor dropped something above our kitchen & the light fixture fell, shattered, & damaged our table because it wasn’t installed properly. Thank God we weren’t hurt.

When these neighbors left & repairs were being done to that unit, our water was shut off w/o notice several times.

There’s a leak under our sink. Maintenance told us there’s not & wanted evidence! When we showed them, they still denied it. Fujica F. (property manager) said she’d send someone to fix it months ago. No one’s come. There is a vase full of water under our sink.

Our water heater had issues & water wouldn’t stay hot for more than 10 min. It took them 3+ months to get it fixed & we had to contact them nearly every day! Maintenance couldn’t fix it but told us they could. When they finally admitted they couldn’t, the people they sent instead were also clueless.

I turned on our bathroom faucet one day. The knob flew off & water flooded our bathroom. A piece inside the faucet was old & rusted so badly that it caved under water pressure. There was water inches high on the floor before I could reach the shut-off valve.

After that, MUSHROOMS began growing out of the bathroom floor! This is where we are now. There’s likely extensive water damage from the flooding. The ONLY thing they’ve done is spray bleach on the area! We contacted them several times about this. We don’t know what sort of mycelium & mold lies behind those walls. Maintenance faulted us for this, saying we need to open our windows & keep our AC on, which we’ve always done. We asked the property manager for professional treatment of our unit & she’s blatantly ignored emails & dismissed our concerns. This is absolutely reprehensible behavior.

There are cracks in the caulking around the bathtub that we think are contributing to the water damage. Every time we shower, paint chips from the tub and clogs the drain. We asked them to reseal & refinish it for months but were told it’s “not in the budget”.

SAFETY:

My husband & I saw a SWAT team enter a building next to ours. We don’t know what that was about. Another building had a police standoff for hours. Residents weren’t notified even after it happened. Later people were squatting in the apartment above us. We have a ring & caught them going into the unit wearing ski masks & armed. We told management & never saw them do anything to make us feel safer.

CLEANLINESS:

Required valet trash is $30 monthly yet they don’t always pick up. Once our trash was out for 5 days. We started seeing roaches when we moved in. It was disgusting. Dozens of roaches would scatter as soon as you turned on the kitchen light. Pest control is $4 monthly, yet it took ages to get them to treat our unit.

My name crystal I live in building 1100 I been here almost 5 years and customer service is trash.they never fix anything.you call office they never answer this is not a good place to live. If I could give a half star I would a whole one is to much.
