MAA Avala is such a great place to live they truly care for their residents and the property in a whole. Anytime there is an issue with anything they have helped me within good time and been very respectful of me and my family. The maintenance team is the best ever and I couldn't have been more happy with my time here.

I love living at Avala. My neighbors are nice and quiet, and the staff are so amazing. I love the amenities, especially the gym because of the equipment variety. I plan to live here for a very long time.

MAA Avala is a wonderful place to rent from. The amenities are always clean and the maintenance team goes above and beyond. When one of my lightbulbs went out, we put in a request and every lightbulb in my unit was changed! The office staff is always so welcoming and takes care of every need. I will definitely be resigning my lease!

I rented here for 2 years. The 1st 14-16 months were great. When Lauren was leasing manager. Upon her departure (and MAA) attaching their name on sign the place became “ unlivable “. The parking lot in front of our building was flooded ( no hurricane just incompetence) they allowed their faulty sprinkler system to flood the parking lot for TWO weeks. Furthermore they rented the apartment next door to me and allowed 16 residents to live in ONE apartment. I think they still live there. 2000 building top floor on back right. Multiple police calls ( including in the same building a shooting on second level of 2000 ). And many more police presence in the upper level of building 1000. Feel free to contact me if you felt it unsafe( one of my children lived there) to move. Although I completely finished my lease agreement ( paid in full) I felt it necessary in fear of the safety of me and my child to move at the completion of my lease agreement. Please contact me if you or your family feel threatened by living in this place. You do NOT have to live here if you feel it is a dangerous environment.

I WILL NOT be renewing my lease at MAA Avala, and I’m here to tell anyone thinking about living here to RUN in the opposite direction. If I could rate it negative starts I would. This place is an absolute disaster, and the office staff is the rudest, most unhelpful group of people I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Not only have they ignored every major issue I’ve brought up, but now they’re trying to slap me with $700 in post-move-out fees—and I’m done staying quiet.

Let’s start with the filthy, disgusting mess of this complex. Tenants feed stray cats all over the place, which has brought on a roach infestation that management has chosen to completely ignore. My poor dogs got fleas because of this mess, and it cost me a fortune to deal with. And speaking of dogs, NO ONE picks up after their pets. It’s revolting to walk through the community, stepping in dog crap because management doesn’t do a thing about it except leave passive-aggressive notes.

It gets worse. My smoke detector was literally leaking water, and my AC unit froze over twice. Did management care? Not in the slightest. I reported it, and they responded as if they were doing me a favor by even acknowledging the problem, let alone actually fixing it. The "maintenance" here is a joke.

If you care about safety, don't even think about living here. My car was broken into, and surprise—there are no security cameras or any kind of security measures. Their brilliant advice? “Lock your car.” Thanks for that useless tip, as if I hadn’t already locked it. They couldn’t care less about the safety of the tenants or our belongings.

And then this—someone actually entered my apartment while I was at work, with no maintenance request on file. I came home to find that someone had been inside with no explanation. It was a clear violation of my privacy, and when I brought it up, management couldn’t have been more dismissive. I’ve felt unsafe in my own home ever since.

As if that’s not bad enough, there’s been a snake infestation around the complex, making it unsafe to walk around, even in broad daylight. And let’s not forget about the overflowing dumpsters, a constant eyesore that adds to the overall filth and neglect here.

The only thing this place seems to care about is keeping the flowers and landscaping pretty so they can trick new tenants into signing a lease. But once you're in, the nightmare begins, and the staff couldn’t be ruder or more unhelpful if they tried.

Do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY from MAA Avala. I regret ever moving here, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the anger.

Bad treatment, my husband and I have been here for a year and we are never one to complain, but the service is very terrible. First, there was a problem with the light, then we asked for the carpet to be cleaned since day one. It was stained, ok, we left it like that, we vacuumed and things came off. about the carpet then one complains about the humidity that there is in my closet where all my clothes are full of mold and that the insurance has to solve ok then we wanted to give up being there quickly charging 3000 for not renewing the contract now it was renewed and it does not serve what is happening in the apartment but now they are fining me because my mother came because of the hurricane and brought her dogs, which she already left, she stayed for 10 days charging me for the dogs even though they are not there but not to change my apartment You can't but fix my closet and things

The office staff was absolutely wonderful during my recent apartment search. I felt extremely welcomed and they answered all of my questions professionally and relieved so much of my stresses. If you're looking for a new apartment, I highly recommend this community!
