A J A M A C I A N resturant that can't even produce a plate of decent wings, a third of thier menu, a half decent curry goat, and some seasoned chicken.

Maybe it's just dinner service, but my God it was terrible. They didn't have a good third of the menu avaliable, The music was night club loud and the owner/manager or whatever she was was walking around reeking of alcohol as she was actively drinking and had drank at least a full cup during the 30 minute duration we were there. Upon finally getting our food the majority of it was absolutely and completely disgusting. Over and undercooked mush barely seasoned and thrown into a Styrofoam to go box. For instance I ordered the curry goat. I was given 2/3s a box of rice and beans and a 1/4 gaggle of bones and fat with a small sample of meat. (3 decent chunks, see my to go box in the pictures) It was over cooked to hell and back and the majority of the "meat" had small shattered and broken bones through out, WHICH I CUT MY MOUTH OPEN WITH BECAUSE IT WAS BURRIED INTO THE FAT. The meals are all about 20 a piece and the drinks and sides are all 3 to 5. This restaurant was better when it was Mo' Bay. Save your money, save your stomach, and save your time.

Was looking for something different for dinner (6-7 pm) last night, so my friend and I decided to give Island Flava a try. We were a bit hesitant at first because we were the only folks eating, which typically isn't a good sign. The fellow who waited on us was super cool and welcoming and then proceeded to tell us what wasn't available on the menu. We weren't sure how to take this, but forged ahead.

We had appetizers of coco bread and chicken wings. Took a little while to get to us, because things were being made fresh, to order! Great sign. The wings were really good (even without sauce), and I could have eaten another few loafs of the bread.

Our meals made it out to us - again, made fresh from when we ordered - and... I was totally upset that the place wasn't crowded. The food was FAN-TAS-TIC! I had the red snapper w/creole sauce and sides of black rice and cabbage/carrots. The snapper was a healthy portion cooked to perfection, and the sauce... wow... it was a red curry-ish sauce with (I think) scotch bonnet pepper in it? It had a little kick, but not overpowering at all. I could have eaten a bowl of the stuff like soup! My friend got the brown chicken (I think that's what it was called) with similar sides. Again, the sauce with this chicken was crazy good. It was dark and somewhat sweet, but not exactly like barbecue sauce. Almost like a hoisin sauce. Either way, phenomenal stuff. As a garnish of sorts, a couple of sweet plantains are served on the side. Again, could have eaten a bucket of those.

We were happy with how we were treated by the staff, who kept our water glasses filled and were happy to chat a bit. If you're getting a soda, I got a Jamaican "Ting," which is like Squirt, but not as sweet, and was very tasty. My friend got a watermelon soda which tasted like a combination of Jolly Rancher's candy and bubble gum. Thing is, they have a fairly wide variety of "different" sodas and beers, which was very welcome.

My only suggestion would be that they print out menus with what IS available, so people can focus on what they CAN get instead of seeing what they can't (the whole menu looks awesome, btw). It would help the waiter out when taking orders, at least!

This is a place that does a small number of things INCREDIBLY well, and served us some of the best food that we've had in a restaurant in quite some time. That's why I said I was upset that there weren't more people eating - I want them to stay in business. That creole sauce... can't get it out of my head. Definitely going to try and get back there when I can.

I stopped by this place on my way to Florida and God told me to eat here. Long story short I'm glad I did!
Customer service could've been better (youngprettylady)call me haha but the food was dope and made up for it.
Everything I had was fresh with plenty of flavor. Brown stew chicken rice and peas with cabbage. Ohhh can't forget about those fire plantains!!! Most definitely will add this to my I95 stop list

We got into town late (around 9p/10p) & this was 1 of the few restaurants that was still open close to our hotel. Walking in, the atmosphere itself leaves much to be desired BUT our biggest issue/concern so to speak was the lack of communication either on the cashier's side, the cook(s)' or maybe even both, I don't know. We wanted to try the Fried Beef, cashier informs us that they are completely out of beef. Okay cool, we'll do the Shrimp Creole. Cashier runs the card, goes to the back comes out & tells us they're out of Shrimp. I'm in the restaurant industry, you gotta make sure you're communicating with all of your staff especially the Front of the House since they're the ones interacting with customers, & situations like that can and/or will leave a bad first impression. I love the plantains & He actually enjoyed the Curry Goat but it didn't have as much flavor as expected. Neither of us liked the texture & taste of the Mac & cheese but that's a personal preference. Would try again the next time we're in town, but during lunch time instead.

I really wish I lived in Savannah so that I could be a regular at this restaurant. The food was beyond amazing. Very authentic and flavorful. The Mac and cheese had me second guessing if I ever had Mac and cheese that good in my life. Everyone in the restaurant was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms even the owner. We felt like a part of the family. I will make a trip to Savannah just to visit this restaurant. This restaurant is black owned at its finest. Visiting this restaurant has been the highlight of our trip.

Amazing service, delicious, authentic food! We arrived at like 11pm on a Friday, they’re open til 2.. great service from start to finish. A little slow due to it being so late and menu being slightly limited but We all got exactly what we wanted and the food and drinks were awesome! Reasonably priced and drinks are STRONG. You definitely get your money’s worth lol. Great music, shout out to whoever decided on Buju Banton for the night, he’s one of my favorite Jamaican artists. I would definitely recommend and will be back when I’m in the area.
