My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Perkins Cove for the first time this past weekend with two of our friends. Our whole experience exceeded our expectations. We communicated with Norman via text message before meeting him in person at breakfast our first morning at the Inn. He made us feel very welcomed while we were there. The rooms were very cozy and clean, and our bed was very comfortable!

The Inn provided beach chairs and towels for us, so it was nice to not have to worry about bringing those. The location is a very short walk to Perkins Cove, which was just what we were looking for. There is a wonderful restaurant right at the Inn and breakfast is provided with your stay. The food exceeded our expectations - some of the best breakfast meals we have had in a very long time. We also sat out by the fire pit and enjoyed cocktails one night which was nice. We look forward to returning here in the future!

From what I understand this is now called Inn at Perkin's Cove (previously Hartwell House Inn). We had an amazing stay there last weekend (and a wonderful meal at the connected restaurant, Il Covo). It is in a perfect location that is walkable to all the sites and bars/restaurants. The rooms were updated from what I had seen online and we loved all the new updates. The kingsize bed/mattress and pillows were so comfortable and they had every thing that we could've needed throughout our stay, we enjoyed our first night so much we reached out for availability to stay an extra night and luckily for us it was available so we stayed longer. Marge, the innkeeper, was always available for anything we needed and so lovely, couldn't ask for better. We already can't wait for our next trip back to Ogunquit and we would love to stay at the Inn at Perkin's Cove again!

The serene atmosphere of the inn truly enveloped us during our stay. The inn itself was beautifully decorated, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding nature. |We appreciated the adults only aspect. We’ve raised children and grandchildren and now it’s time for quiet, House Beautiful decor and ambiance. |The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, offering helpful recommendations for local attractions and dining options. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. Thank you for providing us with an unforgettable experience."

My husband I have been going to different bed and breakfasts all over New England for years. Some better than others but never have I felt so deceived by the website to what we got. In talking to the manager we found out it is under new owners who never changed the website from the old ones. And between the pictures and the description they couldn’t be any more different. The previous owners took all the beautiful furniture in the pictures and the new owner is still showing them as if that’s what you’re getting. They also do not own the second building with a bunch of rooms in it. We did not know this so when we saw a “no availability” sign we were shocked to find out we were almost the only ones there. . Part of the charm of a b&b is meeting others that are staying there. Come to find out we were almost the only guests staying there. We felt very isolated. The website also said our room overlooked beautiful gardens with a lily pond and that it was a wedding venue. Sorry. But I can’t imagine a wedding being held there. There was nothing like that. My husband asked for a bottle of champagne to be left in the room for our anniversary and was told they did not do that. What? Why could you bring it when we got there but not put it in the room for a little surprise. Not customer service at all. So I understand new owners are doing their thing to get the place to a vision that they have but deceiving people along the way is not the way to go about it.

My husband I just returned from Ogunquit this afternoon after a 3 night stay at Hartwell House Inn Ogunquit as is a true gem of a town, staying at Hartwell house Inn made it extra special. It is truly a gem of a place to stay. ||Starting from the time we arrived to the time we left, we had nothing but excellent service, owned by two extremely pleasant and very delightful people - Heath and Brian.||Pls keep in mind as you read this review I am very high maintenance and look for finer details when going on vacations. ||We stayed in Executive King Studio with Kitchenette, which and all other rooms are all recently renovated. Kitchen was well equipped with very good quality dishes, pots/pans, silverware. Bedding and towels were very high quality, specially the towels. ||Room was tastefully decorated, not like a typical hotel room, with modern and chic touch. Bed and pillows were very comfortable.||We were served with gourmet breakfast every morning by a third member at the Inn - Christina, (who I think is a gourmet chef), customized to our needs and dietary limitations, served in a common area which is facing the front lawns and has large windows with morning sun light filtering thru. ||The back of the Inn has well manicured lawn with a beautiful lily pond and garden furniture placed at various points to enjoy beautiful July Ogunquit weather.||||The location of the Inn is perfect with literally 3-5 minutes walk to Perkins Cove with a variety of excellent restaurants only stones throw away in addition to its proximity to Marginal Way, the most scenic walk along the coastline. ||The customer service at the Inn is done with a warm smile. Our room AC had a battery related issue on the day of our arrival, which was addressed and fixed in no more than 15 minutes time at 10 PM at night. ||Another great feature which I am sure people would enjoy after a day on the beach or long walks in the town - is the shower enclosure converting into steam room. Very relaxing !!||||We are already looking forward to our next stay, sometimes soon. We thank the owners and other staff of Hartwell House Inn for making out stay so much more enjoyable. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Wow! We stayed at Hartwell House in 2021 for 4 nights and returned to the same room for 5 nights in 2022 to learn it has new owners and an on-site chef/innkeeper. The redecorated room was stunning with a great new king-sized bed, lovely linens and furniture. Each room has a refrigerator with small freezer, as well as beach towels - brilliant since we had flown in from Atlanta. We were welcomed by co-owner Heath after having been called by chef/innkeeper Christina, who wanted to know whether we had dietary restrictions. We do, and she was very intentional about accommodating those as she created delicious breakfasts which included crab cake eggs Benedict; French toast baked in ramekins with brioche, fresh peaches and blueberries; fruit smoothies and juice before the main course, and always an option for a classic breakfast. She had different pastries or cookies prepared in the afternoons. We were asked whether we wanted housekeeping, and our requests were met by either Heath or (co-owner) Brian, or Christina. They are still in the process of remodeling but guests are not disturbed in any way by that. The three of them are the consummate hosts and made us feel welcomed and cared for.

Hartwell House was perfectly located between Perkins Cove and the shops in Ogunquit. We never used our car once we checked in. The room was beautiful, bathroom looked brand new, and bed incredibly comfortable. The innkeeper (Christina) was friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious both days.||Ogunquit is so pretty and charming, and Hartwell House was justb perfect!
