Would Rather Sleep in a Ditch

If you’re looking for an immersive crime scene experience, look no further—this hotel has it all. Let’s start with the charming decor: a crusty, fossilized crescent roll behind the nightstand (a relic from a past civilization, perhaps?), a giant yellow stain on the sheet that I can only hope was just a failed science experiment, and a box spring covered in stains that could make a forensic expert weep. Bonus? A single shotgun shell on the floor, because nothing screams “restful night’s sleep” like evidence of recent activities.

The amenities? Oh, they’re top-tier. Ever wanted a shower with no showerhead? Just stand there and hope for divine intervention. Need toilet paper? So did we—but there wasn’t any. Perhaps they encourage guests to embrace nature’s bidet? And the water? Rust poured out of the faucet like Casper the Friendly Ghost was making a dramatic entrance.

Let’s talk about the luxury bedding: one pillow per bed (because who needs neck support?), a single scratchy blanket that’s supposed to be decorative but doubles as an exfoliation tool, and absolutely no comforter. And the hospitality? They provided exactly ONE towel for four people—and it was yellow. Not a soft pastel yellow, but the kind of yellow that makes you question its past. Either they expected us to air-dry or engage in some sort of survival-of-the-fittest battle for it.

There was a fresh coat of paint! You could tell because they painted around the headboard and right over the evacuation plan. They wouldn’t want anyone escaping this nightmare.

And let’s not forget the mysterious, sticky substance on the floor that I was too afraid to investigate.

This place was so disgusting I wouldn’t let my dog stay here. Honestly, I wouldn't even let my worst enemy stay here. If you’re thinking about booking a room, just sleep in your car. It’s safer—and probably cleaner.

I’d rather ride out the hurricane with Lt. Dan than stay in this hotel again. I did more google searches on bugs this week than I have in my entire life, researching what critters are crawling around my bed, walls and bathroom. The only positive part of my stay was the overbearing smell of bleach when I walked in my room for the first time, because that meant it was cleaned to at least some extent. I will never book with OYO again. May post a picture of this massive cockroach in the morning, if he decides to crawl back up the drain.

Beware-Beware-Beware-Beware-Beware-Beware.

What a dump. The worst place to stay if you want a clean bed. There are no King Beds. There is no T.V. service. The mattresses and furniture are over 50 years old. No security locks on the door. The toilet does not flush and you will never put your feet in the filthy tub to shower with a towel that is years old. It is endless. You might as well sleep in your car.

I booked directly on-line, "big mistake". You will not get what is in their photos. They do not issue a refund for mistakes they made which I am currently disputing. In order to get someone you must call "India". A gas station attendant is who you will meet who has no authority regarding any concerns.

If I could rate this a zero I would !!! It was a nightmare to be in! To start it off our room had no locks and looked to have the door kicked in, and as two females in the room that was a huge stress. The walls were covered in stains and some kind of gloop... I don't know and don't care to find out! Blood on our towels and sheets and they had no clean replacements! Bugs under the bed and the shower and toilet were a joke. I felt so unclean and unsafe!! -1 this place is awful, not to mention they see pictures from another hotel as their website photos! Sketchy and gross DO NOT GO HERE!!

There is No service. Only 2 pillows, filthy floors... the only time the floors are moped is if you spill something. No office... you check in at gas station next door, No tv, no microwave, no refrigerator, no air conditioning. Sheets don't fit bed, and lots of bugs! More humidity in room than outdoors, and 1 towel, 1 washcloth, and 1 handtowel. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SLEEP IN YOUR CAR.

I will start by saying that this location was impacted by Helene. I evacuated from Florida from impacts of Milton. This was /is the dirtyest hotel I have ever seen or been in!!! The bathroom was rusty and smelled. There was no tv, internet, cable, fridge or microwave as stated. The carpet has been there since the 70’s. The management made up pricing on a whim. The mold through out the hotel was disgusting and dangerous. I will never stay there again, I’d rather stay in my car!!!!!!

I personally hate writing bad reviews, but I travel regularly for work. While I’ve been in some bad hotels, this one takes the cake. You check in through the gas station, which isn’t a huge deal to me, and it’s convenient to be able to run downstairs and grab a quick snack if you’re brave enough to leave your room (no digs on the hotel in that department, it’s just a sketchy area). Like most of the other reviews say, there’s no TV, no microwave, no fridge, and no internet. We were told by the man who checked us in that you may or may not get hot water. Even with having full service LTE, I couldn’t get anything to load on my phone. The man who checked us in was nice, but when I called (3 times, and let it ring for over a minute each time) for the Wi-Fi password, I couldn’t get anyone to answer. I finally decided to go down to the gas station to get the password, but their Wi-Fi was down. For my women traveling alone, the door only has one deadbolt, and the door is very light and connected directly to the outside. Honestly, I was willing to let all this go without a review, but there was pee on my toilet seat, the bathroom floor had clearly not been swept (let alone mopped), and the bathtub/shower hadn’t been cleaned either as there was a smashed bug and grime in the bottom of the tub. I understand jumpstarting a new business and not having all the amenities. I also understand and appreciate offering a cheap place to stay for evacuees of the hurricane. But at the very LEAST, people expect and deserve a clean room. Very disappointed and unsatisfied. I read that these issues are being addressed, but please, for the love of god, please get some housekeepers. There are so many hardworking people looking for employment. There’s no excuse.
