I can’t say enough good things about the staff. Very friendly and helpful. The site is a good place to take children in grade school. We felt it was not a good fit for our toddler grandchildren. The exhibit and hands on areas were clean and the craft areas were both clean and tidy. The garden area was nice and could use better labeling on the plants. Enjoyed our time there and will be back.

Holy Toledo , this place is great!! We went during a sensory night for noise sensitive adults and children and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All of the exhibits were awesome and the fact that they even have a sensory night is amazing. Other establishments should take note!

Stopped by as part of a grandkids road trip. The kids enjoyed the interactive exhibits and spending a longer, than I expected, time in the exploring building. Highly recommend visiting. The singing Tesla Coil was unique but too loud for the 5-year old.

What a Tennessee gem! Passed by this place a few dozen times before we finally had the ultimate excuse to stop: our very own 6-yo aspiring naturalist/paleontologist. We were excited, and it surpassed our expectations! Our kiddo relished the ability to see, discover, interact, ask questions, play, and learn all in one place and from experts in the field. The amount of non-replica original fossils here, found on site, is just astounding. We will most likely make this a regular stop anytime we are back in the area.

This place is amazing!! There is an active fossil sight, view of their active lab, interactive lab for visitors, tesla coil, great exhibits, and an awesome hands on discovery center for kids.

The play area offers suitable activities for children aged 5-10, however, the toddler zones require significant improvement. Many toys are damaged, costumes and puppets are torn and unsanitary, and the race track cars are frequently malfunctioning. Furthermore, the climbing structure lacks engaging features, essentially providing only a view of rocks. The facility's child-friendliness is questionable. While supplemental activities, such as the Tesla demonstration, are available at an additional cost, they are primarily geared towards older children (5-10). From an adult perspective, the museum exhibits were exceptional, and the tour guide's expertise and engaging presentation were highly commendable. The educational experience was valuable for my children, reinforcing the importance of respectful observation. However, the content was largely adult-oriented, with limited interactive elements. Considering the limited toddler-friendly options, I would not recommend this location for children under 5 years of age.

Absolutely love this place. We went as a field trip with my daughter's school. We had a blast! There are plenty of hands on activities and the displays were really need to learn about the facts of the area and how all of it was discovered. The price was great compared to many other places I've been. We will definitely be back as a family.

My daughter and I went when she was 4 years old and she couldn't do anything (we didn't know about the other building) and I was bored. We recently went (she's 8 now) and she could do more things. We really enjoyed the other building a lot more than the fossil building. We couldn't go outside to explore because they were having a kids camp and they would let us outside.
The Tesla add on wasn't worth it because it was super loud and scared my daughter.
