Some friends of ours and my wife and I ate there last month and the food was good and service was ok but the restrooms and dining area could use a good cleaning. 11/2/24 same couple with us wanted to take us out for our anniversary and we wanted to patronize them again as they are a mom and pop business. The selection was considerably slacking with some items not enough a serving, our drinks were never refilled and the floor was filthy. None of us us bem I’m ed the restrooms but judging by the appearance of the dining area they were probably pitiful as well. Very disappointed on the visit and probably our last.Apparently the food cops have never checked this place out.I am hoping the kitchen is cleaner than the rest of the place.

I was talking to the owner for a while when I came in. I was asking why I was charged $25 for one person. He said something about seafood, but the crux of my problem is that when I finally got him to be friendly and polite to me (not easy by the way). I asked him about all the good reviews, and he admitted that he wrote most of the 5 star reviews like of was not a big deal or it was cute. The food was overpriced and the staff was rude and nasty. Not coming back.
EDIT: I didn't leave the review on the same day I came in. Yet he disingenuously assumes I did to add credibility to his BS response.

Fuqua's Southern Soul Food in Hartsel Al, truly took me back to my grandmother's kitchen. The flavors were delicious, accompanied by great service, and an all you can eat buffet had me felling satisfied and grateful. I will definitely be going back. GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE!

Wow!! Best soul I’ve ever eaten. Excellent fried chicken, fresh salad bar and great mashed potatoes. Homemade pies and cakes included with buffet.

Looking this place has the absolute best fried pork chops, period. Southern fried pork chops. I drove from the most middle of Tennessee to get these pork chops. Sad to say, I arrived to country fried steaks or cubed steak and gravy fried Chicken and meat loaf to which was great too but, they were yesterday. This next part speaks to the staff off this place. When I entered it is as I have always noticed. I did bring my FIL with me. So it was as I told him the gentleman said as always “Come on in! I hope y’all are hungry!!”. But once I was finished I went to pay and told them how I’m saddened that I missed those pork chops. The host asked me if I wanted her to fry some….what!?. I at first told her no. I don’t want them to work just for my request but she insisted. 5 minutes later. She brought me some fried pork chops. The service was absolute awesome. The food, chef’s kiss. Go here please all will enjoy.

The food here is amazing! The fried chicken ranks in the top 5 best I’ve ever had! The workers where so friendly and nice and they had a excellent health rating! I will be back!!

Wow! Love this place! Found in a shopping plaza in rogersville and if you enjoy Southern home cooking this is the place, I still can't pronounce their name but the buffet food is outstanding, everything home made the way it should be! Be sure to save room for dessert because plenty to choose from husband swears they have the very best peach cobbler, I love the banana pudding, the strawberry cake and lemon cake was wonderful too! Be sure to give them a try, you won't be disappointed!!!
