We visited this place from the combined ticket with the Alhambra. We didn’t realize how special this place was. The house was built in unique style from the neighbors but reflects the combination of Greek and Roman styles. The area is serene and tranquil. The view on Granada city is panoramic. Olivia, our guide, is kind and very informative. She did not only provide the insights of the mansion but also about the city and places to visit. We were so lucky to have like a private tour, almost an hour in the estate by only our family. Really a good place to visit beside the Alhambra palace.

Travelled down from Valencia to checkout the sites of southern Spain. We heard about this when we got our Alhambra tickets… and thought why not?! What a pleasant little surprise to happen upon us. The gardens and villa were gorgeous… Álvaro and Cristina gave a wonderful tour and also took the time to recommend some restaurants and other sites to check out in the city. Unfortunately we toured during the week and the studio and library were closed. If you can visit on the weekend.

What a beautiful home and gardens of this Spanish artist. So much thought went into the design and planning of the spaces. Entry is 5€ for the guided tour. Olivia, our guide, provided so much information about the building, the artist, and his life. There are more areas available to see at certain times (underground spaces and the library).
The gardens have many statues, some created for the home, others older.
Very beautiful views out over the city.
Because tours are guided, consider booking tickets to know your start time. We just happened to show up 5 minutes before the last tour of the day.

We had a great time here, our tour guide Álvaro is very knowledgeable and happy to share his experience surrounding the Foundation itself, art history, architecture, philosophy and culture in Granada. He also speaks great English! This was a really nice complement to the visit to the Alhambra; seeing a different architectural style from another period in Granada is interesting, and having a small tour group (with a great guide) and experiencing the tranquil surroundings of the Foundation as Jose María intended is certainly different from the big crowds at the Alhambra. We were originally not sure about adding the Foundation to our itinerary but now it is one of the highlights of our visit in Granada. Thanks again Álvaro!

Tours are on the hour, €5 per person for an hour tour. Access is only allowed with a tour.
A stunning mix of Christian, Arab and Roman architecture. Alvaro did a great job explaining the history and use of this 20th century building and terraces. !! Absolutely worth the time!!

I have seen the gardens and some art on the inside. It’s a nice trip up the hill and some minutes of discovery. It’s a nice thing to do if you couldn’t make it to Alhambra due to unreasonable ticketing over there. But in my opinion it lacks color. The architecture is very curated and tells a story of what it wants you to see and what would be hidden. But where is the soul of the structure? It seemed so empty.

My friend and I got the free tickets on fridays and were surprised that it even included a guided tour! Stunning views, architecture and gardens! Our guide Cristina was very informative and helpful, explaining everything and taking photos of us at the nicest spots! I loved the museum, I wish we could have spend a little bit more time there, great collection, even some paintings by Pacheco, Zurbarán and Sorolla! All in all an amazing experience 🙂

I cam across the doundation a bit randomly after visiting the garden of Carmen de los martires. It was an very good surprise, the house and the gardens are beautiful. If you areinterested in architecture I highly recommand visiting. The guides are super nice and will answer all your questions during the tour !

The 1h tour is for the gardens, you need to book a 2h tour in order to visit the whole building !
