Been here 2x and both times got turned around due to some unforseen circumstance. This time my family and I drove 8hrs to enjoy the weekend but my new va card didn't have some silly sticker on the back. I'm sure next visit it'll be something else. Sucks to be a combat vet these days. No respect.

Union troops pushed out Confederacy came to San Antonio although navy and marine corps have tendency of going unchecked in fort Sam be on your guard.

BEWARE of the Marines on Fort Sam post Iraq War the army lost a lot of control of fort Sam basically what Bush goal to destroy the army. It's not a army base controlled by a bunch of elites in the air force.

Fort sam had alot of traditions lost with the air force take over its really hurting south texas.

Pre 911 the army allowed San Antonio residents on base to the quad drive through etc. Base for modern times.

The air force security took over the base gates the humility of the army lost it's spark. With Bush hurting an army base long history being in San Antonio.

Union troops also left the Alamo without firing single bullet against the confederacy just like where. Consume money judge the surrounding neighborhoods in very toxic mindset. Fort Sam mainly officer golf course now.

The base itself is nice it is the facilities that need changing the Navy as well as the dfac as like on the weekend with the amount of people you have to wait for at least 45 minutes to an hour to get in the door because they only have half of it open. Work on getting staff here on the weekend to open the whole thing.

Why do civilians should go to the main entrance to get IDed literally like if a cop pulled you over when you have another entrance open but not for civilians!

I just get in to banzglman gate . The police officer seen there always very rude , no greeting at all . He asked me to grab the back seat person ID but he didn’t move even a single step toward him .

He might be a supervisor or high rank officer, whatever we asked the administration to get resolved this issue . Because it’s a federal place
