Great sandwiches on some delicious bread...Rueben on marble rye & turkey 'n cheese on sourdough, perfectly portioned and perfectly toasted.
Have a nice selection of homemade goodies and seasonal items, priced to sell!
Got a generous sized, nicely frosted, espresso-chocolate chip cake to go, we'll bite into it later...

If I lived in Monticello, I'd eat at Five Loaves at the least once a week. The menu is diverse. The service is friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is comfortable and a little quirky. All and all we had a great experience.
I had the Asian Chicken Wrap which was spot on perfect. The added roasted peanuts rounded out the tasty flavor profile. My "Partner in Crime" had the Ruben which was prepared as a Panini. The corned beef was tender, and the finish on the bread gave the sandwich a nice light crunch.
We finished with the "Cookies and Cream" Pudding and a Chocolate Carmel cupcake. It was a wonderful meal for sure.

I’m probably their number one customer. Eat there all the time always different dinner that’s unique and food I haven’t tasted before. Nice staff. Quality ingredients and is healthy I think it’s farm to table isn’t it?

We were passing through, on a road trip, and had purposely not eaten at any of the chain restaurants. We stopped here, because it was approximately 1/2 way home. Man was it worth it! We both got Cobb salads. Just look at the artistry on the plate. It was fresh and fantastic. And the price? $7.50 at the time of yhis posting. If you're a local, you already know this place. If you're just passing through... stop. You'll be glad you did.

We stopped here while driving through for a quick lunch. Service was pleasant, food was out quickly, portions are normal sized which is great when you can’t take food with you, although I think some would consider that a downside. I had the French dip, the sourdough was delicious the meat was fresh and flavorful. My partner had the spicy bacon melt, he thought it was good. He was an especially impressed by the potato salad.

I can not say enough about this place! My husband and I moved to the area last year, and we're lucky that we found this place. We love the monte cristo, spicy bacon, the turkey melts. Honestly, everything we've ever gotten from here is delicious. We also love the potato salad. A few weeks ago, they had orange cookies, which are my favorite. My mom would make them for me every year, and I've never seen them anywhere else.
