They were prejudiced and they were very unprofessional! The place is beautiful not knocking that part. The owner stuck his nose up at us when we served wine or danced with certain black music. My mom asked for certain colors and they did the opposite and there is no organization. She asked for her pictures to be posted up on the slide and they didn’t do it. They were too worried about Black people if you were gonna steal or if we was gonna fight or be ghetto and we didn’t. I’m nondenominational I don’t judge anybody. I love everybody and everybody in that room are loving people. We love you for who and what you are not the skin color not the size and I just think that was so disgusting the way that they were treating us. They were so racist in one of them even had a confederate flag on their truck not saying having a confederate flag makes you racist but the way that they treated us. I definitely can tell they were racist. They say that they’re Christians, but I don’t understand Christians because they are very judgmental. Even though this place was beautiful, I would never hold a party there again just because the customer service was horrible. We have to do better in South Carolina. It’s time to make changes because we’re here and we’re not going nowhere. I’m black and I love the way that I’m black get with it or leave.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT book this venue if you are a person of color. The owner is very racist and almost ruined my wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous on the inside and that's the only nice thing I can say from this experience. When I booked the owner, Teddy, advised that we could make alcoholic punch since hard liquor wasn't allowed to be served there. My bartender made several flavored punches with different wines and champagne. However, he seemed to have a problem with that on the day of my event. I reminded him that he said it was ok and since we were allowed to serve beer, wine and champagne there shouldn't be an issue. They then took it upon themselves to go through the items I purchased and found a bottle of triple Sec that was to be used to as flavor to the punch. Teddy came to me shaking as I was preparing for my wedding stating that no liquor could be served and had the bottle of triple Sec he removed from my items. I explained to him that wasn't liquor but a liquer that used to add flavor etc. and he saif it said liquor on the bottle. I said no it says LIQUEUR, but to avoid additional confusion I took the bottle and put it in my car. While I was getting dressed my bartender came in the back to tell me he was following her around and harassing her. Once my now husband arrived he then went to him shaking saying there is no hard liquor allowed (this was several hours after I already took the triple Sec to my car since he didn't know what it was).
They also cut the air conditioning off which then started leaking into the food my caterer was serving and we had to through away food that I paid good money for. When my coordinator brought this to his attention he said "he didn't know how the air got turned off" and didn't offer any compensation for the food that was ruined or even an apology. I paid almost $3k for this venue and the same amount for my caterer and it wasn't worth it for the venue after what we went through.
There was no Wi-Fi except by the front door (which is by their office) so therefore none of my guests could use the QR codes to upload photos etc or give monetary gifts.
Also, it seemed that he planned to have his whole family remain during my event, however I told him that they needed to leave because they weren't invited. He said that most of his family was leaving and that he and one other person would stay in the office in case we needed anything. They did go to the office and remain there until my event was over.
We all felt that because we were Black and Hispanic we were treated as if we would tear up the place or didn't know how to conduct ourselves. Save yourself the hassle and find another venue!
