If you love beautifully maintained landscaping, a pristine pool, and friendly neighbors, Desert Foothills Villas might seem like paradise. But beware, fellow renters/condo purchasers, because this place is a real-life Jekyll and Hyde!

Upon moving in, my partner and I were charmed by the young, helpful man who rented us the condo. He gave us the grand tour, and it looked like our dream home. That dream quickly turned into a nightmare once we settled in.

First, let’s talk noise. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like living below a basketball court or an impromptu dance studio, this is the place for you. The upstairs tenants seem to have hardwood floors without any soundproofing. It feels like they’re hosting daily Olympic trials for the noisiest stomping event. We tried turning up our speakers to drown out the noise, but they just upped their stomping game. It’s a never-ending cacophony that makes you question your sanity.

Then came the roaches. Not just any roaches—oh no, we had the privilege of hosting an entire colony of German roaches. These little guys must have been training for a marathon, because they were everywhere, despite our best efforts to clean and set traps. It’s like they were coming out of the walls, staging a mini invasion.

In short, if you value your peace, quiet, and a roach-free living space, Desert Foothills Villas might not be your best bet. The pool and grounds may look inviting, but what’s lurking behind those walls isn’t worth the dive. Buyers/Renters beware!

Dessert Foothills Villas is a gated community of condominiums in a beautiful and well connected area of Phoenix. There are excellent elementary schools near by, Restaurants and Businesses that makes shopping and access to health facilities very convenient. The area is beautifully kept, walk ways ,green areas and swimming pools.

Been in the complex for a few yrs. The landscape was finally taken care of. Looked really bad for a while. The pool areas chairs aren't very nice at all, but the pool is clean. Very little visitor parking. There are volunteer members who oversee the complex who are very rude. I heard renters are treated poorly by these people. They do pay their rent and just because you may own your unit doesn't give them the right to talk down to renters. It's like renters are beneath a certain member who resides there. This person isn't friendly at all. They are very picky and as for the HOA fees, this complex should be spectacular because the HOA fees are pricey. They take minimal care of the property buildings. There are fire extinguishers glass that needs replaced. Structure wood that needs replaced after taking down the old. Or at least making it look like there was no wood there. I have pictures. They seem to go the cheap route when maintaining the buildings. Mixed messages on if there is actual security cameras or not. Overall, it could be taken care of better and members who are unfriendly and rude to renters. I find that the worst.

The reason there are a few bad reviews regarding management's response to rental inquires is because this is an condo complex, where each unit is individually owned, and it is not all managed by one company like the apartment complexes that are common in the area.

Residents are a mix of owners, and people renting directly from the owners.

These condos are in a great area. The complex is kid friendly, the gate keeps the traffic to a minimum, and our neighbors were all very nice. The grounds are kept fairly well and the pool was always clean. The location was excellent, close to I-10, shops and restaurants, and the South Mountain Park trail system.

However each unit is individually owned and managed, so there is no main office or management company that you can call to rent a unit. Look to places like zillow and marketplace to find individual owners who are renting their units.

Decent units, older but not bad. Washer & dryer in the units and kept up pretty well.

my family has been here almost a year and a half now and it's a very quite community. some friendly neighbors, not a lot of action or people out.
