My wife and toured the apartments the other day and we were very impressed. Clean, up to date. Great staff that helped us with all our questions. The ladies up front were the best we've seen all week while looking for our next place of residents

STAY AWAY!!!

I would give zero stars if there is an option. They have not paid back the deposit even after 4 months of moving. I have sent repeated messages and notes to the leasing office. Every time I call them, they keep promising to return the deposit. But it's been 4 months.

The leasing office staff argues with me for asking the deposit back on time, without realizing the fault is on their side, and says they are not responsible for delayed payment of deposit. The leasing office is a mess and it's an absolute disaster!

We just moved in thanks to the assistance of Alexius who was very supportive during the process, showed us the nicest apartment available and answered our many questions, we are very grateful for your support ! Also very happy with the apartment which was clean, recently renovated and fully functional. The Decatur Highlands residence is quiet, we don't really hear our neighbors (I had seen some comments about this but it hasn't been the case for us) and we really appreciate the common spaces available to us.

UPDATE
I was complaining of noises in my previous review. This apartment building is not soundproofing and your quality of life depends on your neighbors and how respectful they are when it comes to noise. Other than that, it’s a great safe community with amazon locker.
Since my noisy neighbor moved out, the problem has solved. It used to be barking noise, party noise, and thumping sound from them at inappropriate hours. But I’m now happier that it’s gone. I don’t know if management had anything to do with their move out but I’m grateful. I hope they screen residents more and do strict measures with disrespectful residents who continue to make noise no matter what. In regards to maintenance, I had to make 3-4 requests with multiple follow ups until they finally get the plumber to fix faucet drips.
Overall happy with my choice staying here if there is no noisy people around.

UPDATE - I've lived here since February of 2024. I've lived in apartments for the last 15 years, this is the worst concerning noise. Disclaimer, prior to this apartment I lived on a top floor unit for 4 years so wasn't used to people being above me. However, I can say with confidence these apartments are made like shit when is comes to insulating noise. Which sucks because overall this is a great community and from experience you do get use to just the day to day noisiness of the apartment.

Although it has changed management since I got here both groups of office staff have done their due diligence to control what they can and make living here a good experience. It is very heavily dominated by college students which can and should make you leery of moving here.

I recently visited Decatur Highlands for a tour and initially found out that they don’t accept walk-ins, which was quite disappointing since I had traveled an hour to get there. Just as I was about to leave, I had the pleasure of meeting Alexius, who completely turned my day around!
She was incredibly friendly and understanding of my situation. She took the time to explain the touring process and convinced me to book a visit for a later date.

I would like to leave a 5 star review to the new management staff at the Decatur Highlands. I was a resident of Highland Lake, but since the crossover to Decatur Highlands, I feel as though I've moved into a whole new complex. Alexus, Ladasia abd Cherita are a force to be reckoned with, and I am super glad that they are on my team. If I could rate them 10 out of 5 stars, they'd definitely receive it. Case in point, our package hub was down, and I was expecting my passport and an important package, yet they coordinated with the postman, to have it personally delivered to the office to ensure a proper delivery, and all without a glitch, reassuring me all the way along. I will forever be grateful for their thoughtfulness and professionalism. I appreciate the team of Decatur Highlands, the perfect trio.
