Great place to RV with hookups. Some tent camping as well. Fishing nearby is good. Come here twice a year we love the older style and charm of the hot pools and hope the purchase by the State will leave it "as is" making improvements without tearing down the existing look and feel. Some dressing partitions in the male and female rooms would be a nice change rather than an open room. Recently, we were there and had hoped for a more polite exit point with new staff being in place but were disappointed. We know you have lives and would like to get back to them, but just showing up and barking "pools closed, everyone out!" Isn't exactly charming.

Challis Hot Springs: A Relaxing Soak in a Rustic Setting

Challis Hot Springs is a great place to unwind and enjoy the natural hot springs of Idaho. The facility is simple and rustic, with bare-bones amenities, but the two pools are fantastic. The water is clean and hot, perfect for soaking away aches and pains. The setting is beautiful, with views of the surrounding mountains and the Salmon River.

While the amenities are basic, they are adequate. There are restrooms and showers available, but don't expect anything fancy. The focus here is on the hot springs experience, and in that regard, Challis Hot Springs delivers.

Overall, I had a wonderful time at Challis Hot Springs. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature. If you're looking for a luxurious spa experience, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a relaxing soak in a beautiful setting, Challis Hot Springs is definitely worth a visit

We don't often stay in developed campgrounds, but when we do we want one exactly like this! Beautiful grounds with nice spots (tent spots have nice spacing between them), great views, right on the river, gorgeous forest walking trail, clean restrooms, and of course 2 amazing hot spring pools. The pools are concrete with a nice pebble rock bottom - very clean and well maintained. A nice warm one for hanging out longer, and a separate area for a small hot one that will cook you nicely like a lobster 🦞 ! What an awesome spot to stay for a night or for several days.

Stayed two nights and soaked up the beauty and ambiance. The bed & breakfast was top notch as was the care and consideration of the host and hostess (Mike & Kathy.)

A unique feature of the springs is the "live" bottom of each pool. Natural river or creek rock and sand allows the springs to percolate upward and into the pools. Patrons are grounded naturally with the energy of the springs and earth soothing and remarkable.

Breakfast is served at 9:00 AM, which was, for me, right on time as my goal was to enjoy an unhurried and pleasant vacation experience. I dined with new friends from Utah and northern Idaho. The food was delicious and prepared family style. I'm not certain everyone will like not having a menu choice, but dang good food otherwise.

I am not a camper, yet by all appearances the facilities and camp amenities are equal to most discerning tent and RV enthusiasts. Access was simple and well maintained.

Worth the visit as the Hot Springs are central to dozens of outdoor activities within simple driving distances.

Great hot springs. The pools were clean and well kept. The staff were excellent and friendly. The grounds overall are very well taken care of. The only somewhat negative thing that can be said is that the campsites are very close together and organized in odd patterns to each other so its difficult to figure out where one site begins and another ends without camping on top of strangers. But I would recommended and plan on returning.

Stayed here three nights. Beautiful, large, level gravel RV sites with grass and shade. Very quiet and dark at night. Mike made us feel very welcome. The large hot springs pool was around 99°, sparkling clean and very comfortable. The smaller hot pool was between 104 and 107 ° . We thoroughly enjoyed or stay and would go back again. BTW, I think there were 38 RV sites and around 20 tent sites.

We were on our way to somewhere else. Tired from driving and vacationing I saw the sign for Challis Hot Springs, asked the boys if they had enough of the road for the day, they agreed so we turned in. The woman at the desk had a back in spot available and I paid my $50. 25min later I was unwinding in the cleanest pools I’ve ever visited. The temp was perfect. The campground is well manicured and there are activities for all ages. Clean bathrooms and hot showers. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a peaceful relaxing soak. Only down side is if you’re reading this bring mosquito spray and mosquito fog and well everything on the store shelf relating to mosquitos as they are very hungry and plentiful given the abundance of water available to them

I almost don't want to share this review as then the secret is out, but I'd love this place to keep going so we can come back. LOVED this place. Super nice hosts, fantastic spot, super quiet, the pools are awesome. We'll definitely he back here one day, I hope!
