We usually stay in 4-star hotels and only stayed in this old-school road-side motel because we couldn't make it all the way to Bangor. All things considered it was a very decent and clean place with a certain woodsy charm. (I do hope the gravel parking area in the back will be paved soon.) The place is rather remote with limited restaurant options and overpriced for what you're getting. I should add that it has large grassy area in the back and I believe it includes a play area, so would be ideal for kids.

My fiancé son & I stayed here for the weekend, I have sensitive skin and I will certainly be back if we’re in Maine again! The facility was extremely clean, full kitchenette with all the amenities. Definitely a safe place for families with children!! The owner was extremely welcoming.

We just spent 1 night here and we can’t say enough good things about the Canaan Motel. First off, it’s absolutely adorable. It’s clean, well appointed, and was a very convenient location.

The family who runs its is very sweet and welcoming. We were traveling with our 9 year old and they also had a 9 year old who was there, so our son got a chance to play which was a welcome break for him as we’d been traveling for over a week.

They have a beautiful pool and the property is just gorgeous. Please stay here when you are in the area! Ram, we hope to see you again when we are in Maine! Thank you for showing Miles the sights while in Canaan! 🩷

The owner was so nice and helpful
And made us feel comfortable.
The room was clean, looked like it was newly renovated. The bed was comfortable and big new tv. Picnic/grill area and firepit was a nice touch. Would highly recommended staying here.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend to ride some local ATV trails. The rooms were clean, service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely stay again. For those looking to ride from hotel by atv or sxs you take a right out of the hotel parking lot, go .03 miles take a left on Easy St. From there all trail are marked. We did a 96 mile loop.

This place is a gem! The owner was so amazing and excited to welcome us at the beginning of our stay. The rooms are very clean and spacious with free WiFi, free parking and smart TVs. The beds are really comfortable and the room was very warm. I would come back again in a heart beat!

Although expensive the quality of the motel exceeded expectations on all levels . Super clean, new floors, beds, bedding - it seems everything perfect . Fastidious attention to detail.not even plastic cups. Double sinks outside the commode room was a nice touch. Good shower.

This place is great! The rooms are spacious and clean as an angel’s wing. The manager is friendly and accommodating. It’s local and a far better value than the chain motels. A short drive to Pittsfield brings you to a great coffee shop/cafe and restaurant—both locally owned and with character.
