My wife and I visited here on October 8, 2024 between 2:30 and 3:45 pm after doing the east side of the Acadia Loop Road and having lunch at the Jordan Pond Restaurant. Wisely, we booked and paid for our access pass online about 2 weeks before we traveled to Maine. It was the last week of the tourist season, and quite crowded because the fall colors had begun to show on many of the hardwood trees. The views are quite spectacular and this is the most popular attraction within the relatively large Acadia National Park. In hindsight, we were very glad that we booked an afternoon pass because a cool front had moved through in the morning and it was raining and overcast on the first portion of our drive around the loop road. The sun came out about 1:30 pm, the skies cleared up, and we had unlimited visibility from the peak.

So we did not go here at sunrise. We wanted to be on the edge of the cliffs for sunrise, so we opted to do otter cliffs in the morning and uh tried to do Cadillac Mountain in the afternoon. We knew we needed to make a reservation so we were a little wary on even making this trip. We knew it was the last day of the season, literally the last day of the season, so we gave it a world and tried to just Go with no reservation. The young man who greeted us at the park ranger. Entrance booth said we needed a reservation. Mind. You, I was the first car driving in with no one behind me. He said you're gonna need to go down to the bottom of the hill where the road forks stay left, you get good reception. You can go on the website. Make a reservation and meet him back there. In 20 minutes, we went down made. The reservation came back up in 15 minutes. Not one car in sight, they immediately drove up and drove in. As you can see in the pictures, Cadillac Mountain is a must. If you are anywhere In the area of acadia national park to get the reflection of the light stunning views, great weather, and I must see I see y it gets the name.

Stunning views, beautiful sunset, frigid winds. 10/10 would do again. Got a perfect view of the comet after dark and the full moon rising behind the setting sun and the whole area around Acadia.

We visited on an absolutely perfect day. You have to make a reservation to travel on the summit road. These reservations cost only $6, but MUST be done ONLINE .. no reservations at the main Acadia park lodge.

The views were spectacular and are 360 at the top of the mountain. Parking was adequate, because of the reservations. There are only a few real "trails" on the summit, though you are allowed to walk on the rocks, but not on any vegetation.

It's a long (3.5 hours) drive to get there from we usually stay in Old Orchard Beach, but we're very glad we made the trek.

Feel like God is everywhere but this place just seems closer than ever. Majestic beyond the imagination. Glad this place is for everyone and not just $$$$ houses and no trespassing signs.

Couldn't get the sunrise tickets but went up at 7am, but had fog so couldn't see anything. So had to do a later time under a different account to get the views. Great giftshop at the top, but portal potties only up there.

Go at sunrise! It was absolutely breathtaking. You’ll need a reservation to drive up and I would recommend getting there as close to 4am as you can. Parking on top fills up fast and you want to make sure you’re situated in a good spot for sunrise. There’s also a paved walking route that goes around the summit.
