Sailing to Monroe Island, aboard the Bufflehead captained by Daniel was an extraordinary afternoon experince. Daniel's friendly demeanor and expert navigation skills made us feel right at home as we embarked on this picturesque voyage. The sailboat had everything we needed for a tranquil adventure. As we coasted along the shoreline, the stunning coastal landscapes, coves, and the backdrop of pines painted an idyllic picture.

The day's highlights was sailing to the south end of Monroe Island. The opportunity to swim in the crystal-clear waters and explore its beaches added a sense of discovery to the journey. Captain Daniel took us for a wonderful sail on his beautiful boat. He is kind, friendly, good at spotting sea life, and instantly makes you feel comfortable as soon as you step aboard. I'd highly recommend sailing on the Bufflehead in particular for a more intimate, fun, and authentic sailing experience than you'll get on a larger boat with more passengers. Sailing with Captain Daniel was the highlight of our trip, and I can't wait to sail with him again soon!

A day on the water with Captain Daniel and the Bufflehead is a must if you're visiting Maine. This is our second time and we will continue to come back every summer.
Not only is Daniel incredibly skilled at his craft, he's also an amazing host.
His knowledge of local wildlife, geography and history is extensive, and he knows when to act as a guide and when to hang back and let you enjoy the moment.
And when you're blissfully enjoying the breeze and sunshine across an open stretch of water, subtle guitar notes might rise and fall to blend with the lapping waves.
10 days of vacation and this is always the highlight. Thank you Captain Daniel!

Captain Daniel was awesome. He worked with us around the weather in early October to make sure that we had the best possible experience. He took us out to an island where we did some hiking and then came back and he cooked lobster for us on the shore. It was THE BEST lobster we had the entire week we were in Maine! We sailed back into the sunset and had beautiful views of lighthouses and got to see some other very cool sailing vessels (who all greeted us warmly). Captain Daniel was very informative throughout the sail about everything around the area.

This sailing adventure was definitely the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a non-commercialized Maine experience.

We stumbled upon Bufflehead Sailing Charters and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Daniel is an experienced and knowledgeable sailor, and his boat sails beautifully. He took us around Penobscot Bay for several hours on a gorgeous September day, and it was an amazing afternoon out on the water. My older brother had found the website for Bufflehead Sailing Charters while searching for sailing in Rockland during our vacation. Captain Daniel was very friendly and shared lots of history, knowledge, and great stories of the area as we were sailing. He also showed us good spots for photos and recommended amazing sightseeing spots and restaurants for us to visit during our trip. It was the first time I have been on a sailboat before and I had an awesome experience. We were out on the water for two hours and time seemed to fly by quick because we had so much fun!
