This beach was perfect for my 1 year older walker and 2.5 year old toddler today. It is clean. It wasn't too crowded. They have pit toilets. My kids couldn't run off too far because of the rock ledges on either sides of the beach. There is sand, rocks, and seaweed where you can find crabs at times. Most of all, it is beautiful. I love watching the water sparkle in the sun. Just use a GPS to get there, as it can be hard to find.

This is a lovely little state park with a nice swimming beach with sand. There is also a rocky shore on either side of the sandy beach, so it is very picturesque. It was very clean, and there were lots of people there. However, the beach is big enough that it does not feel crowded . It is only a short walk from the parking lot to the beach.

There is a honor system to pay, and I was sad to see how few people actually paid.

One of my favorite ocean beach state parks. No bathrooms but there are porta-potties. Sandy beach, at least quarter of a mile long. The waves are minimal so its good for smaller kids to swim in. Great spot to pick rocks for your garden.

Super cute beach area. Great for paddle boarding, swimming, or relaxing. Wasn’t too crowded. Sand, water, and rocks for a variety of exploring. The water wasn’t too wavy or choppy as the boats didn’t come too close. There was a lot of seaweed though. The parking is honor system and I did see people following that which was nice.

Today was the day we were going to the beach. We were very excited, we'd done all the prep work, we drove over 2 hours, and when we arrive there is a new sign that says No Dogs on the Beach.
We were devastated.
We read the reviews about how dog friendly it was. One review even included a picture of the on-site park sign rules, which only stated "dogs must be on leash". We read the state park website and didn't see anything stating no dogs on the beach.
We even paid $10 to get in like the sign instructed (we actually over paid because we didn't have a smaller bill). Yet we saw no one else who drove in pay the "honor system" drop box.
It's incredibly frustrating when state/county parks can't clearly and effectively communicate their rules on their websites. We thankfully had a beautiful drive, did a little site seeing, had a picnic, and turned our day around. However, we were so looking forward to a relaxing day in the sand.
We are totally fine with following the rules. Just communicate them in a clear manner on your website so folks don't drive 2 hours to go to what they thought was a dog friendly place.

I love this beach but I can see a lot of people commenting on the downsides. First, you have to check the tide schedule before coming. At high tide, there isn't much beach. Also, you need to realise that this is not a groomed beach so there is seaweed on it and sometimes you have to walk through a band of seaweed to get in the water. Someone complained that there is dirt. I can't help that person. They should never leave their house. There is a natural bog behind the beach and it can smell sometimes. It is NOT sewage. I think it has to do with how much rain there's been. I've never found it offensive. Sometimes there's a little creek running across the beach from the bog and it is tremendously fun to dam it up. The tide pool in the rocks on the left is wonderful. I can spend hours in there just looking. Please don't flip the rocks looking for crabs. It damages the eco system. By the end of the summer the pool is completely dead. You just need to be patient and wait for them to come out.
The forest to the right is a magical place of moss and tree roots. It's like something out of a fairy tale.
The water is super cold. I find it warmest on an afternoon outgoing tide on a sunny day. The classic beach day though ends in a high tide. Build a sand castle and then madly defend it from the incoming tide. Futile but so much fun! For me, a beach day is the ultimate in relaxation. I drop all expectations and forget about time and the rest of the world.

Lucia Beach, as it's known to locals, is one of my all-time favorite beaches. There's beautiful sand, rocks, and seaweed to explore at low tide. One can also climb on the big rocks on either side of the beach to venture farther and see more beauty.

Nice calm water (though chilly). The beach is rocky at first, then sand near water (at low tide). There are picnic tables and BBQ grills in the woods close to the water to make a day of it.
