This mall has three galleries or wings. There are a lot of vacant store fronts, but one wing of the mall is more deserted than the other two.
JC Penney, Dick's Sporting Goods, and a furniture/mattress store are the anchor stores.
A few mall staples are surviving here: Spencer's, Bath & Body Works, Claire's, Hot Topic. There are some local businesses as well and, interestingly, a couple of local theater groups occupy space here.
There are no restaurants in the mall, but there are some nearby. Unfortunately, the campus isn't pedestrian friendly, the pavements are in bad shape, and you can't easily walk from the mall to any of the nearby businesses.
The exterior of the mall could use some maintenance. It doesn't appear well kept, unfortunately, and that must make it difficult to attract new businesses.

As we all know, the Bangor Mall is not doing well currently. Growing up in Belfast, I always wished my family and I lived nearer to the mall. In fact, when it came time for my Sweet 16 birthday party, instead of a big shindig, I opted to just invite a few friends and have my mom bring us up to the mall and I remember that birthday so fondly.
However, I was at the mall with my husband and service animal when we were approached by a couple of young people who informed us that animals were not allowed in the mall and we would have to leave. This violates federal law, maybe the kids that work there are not aware of this so maybe some training on service animals and what you are allowed to do and what you are not allowed to do as a business.
I bring my dog everywhere I go! As this dog has saved me many times and I can't imagine what would happen if I didn't have him by my side. It's really sad to see the malls demise and walking around and seeing all the empty stores and a dozen or so customers milling around.
Basically, I will never go to the mall again. It's time to do better People! All you would have had to do is watch my dog. He is half poodle and incredibly smart. He doesn't do his business inside at all and did not bark or act crazy. So sad that I have to leave this review.

The forlorn tinkling of a vending machine's tune and a laugh track from a kids'ride echo hollowly in an empty hallway. Maybe it would add a cheerful note to a bustling place of business, but in this forsaken place it's just creepy.

Store after store is shuttered, closed or just empty. As I walk these old halls, I feel no desire to step into what businesses remain, only a sense of loss and empty nostalgia.

This mall needed to lower its rents and keep its stalls full two to five years ago. This emptiness and sense of abandonment has to be driving away what customers remain, and now that this inpression has sunk in, it will take a long and expensive time for them to come back.

It might not be completely hopeless, but I think it's likely financially impractical to fix this stuation in the short term. This mall should close, then rebuild and reopen in not less than fifteen years.

Visted on 4/6/24. This mall is just like what's happened to most malls in this country since well past the mall boom. The mall looks to be able to hold approx. 40 stores with 4 being anchor spaces. 2/3 empty, no restaurants.

It is straight up depressing seeing that the mall I grew up with has become a complete barren wasteland. An absolute shell of what it once was. To say the rise and dominance of online shopping has crippled this place would be the understatement of the century. COVID also didn't help. It is quite literally on life support, I genuinely have no idea how it has not closed yet.

Depressing. Not much left there. 🤞They can bring it back to life. Dicks is still a good place to stop by and you can always find a good deal at JCP.
