I'd give service a ten star if I could!!! Everyone is so nice and helpful. I had read a few bad reviews and was careful as I booked. I was supposed to fly in at midnight. My flight was delayed and I arrived at 2am. Marcus picked me up with a smile on his face. I was grumpy and tired but his positive attitude turned me around! My room was clean and a comfy bed. The fridge is in the dresser. There is a nice guide in the room that tells about the hotel and restaurant. It also mentions where the fridge is (for those that left a bad reviews). I went back the following weekend before my flight out because the service was so amazing!

Older rooms but clean. Nice restaurant on property. Free shuttle to and from the airport.
Leave your vehicle under 7 days, 10 per day. Over 10, only 5 a day! Staff very pleasant.

Very nice front staff on the phone and while checking in. We needed a quick place to stay for night. We didn’t have time to utilize the extras like restaurant, room service or pool
But it was nice to know they offer those services
Dog friendly just let them know at desk or at booking
Beds were the downfall of the stay. Felt more like an air mattress (to me) and wouldn’t be bad if I wasn’t sharing a bed with wiggly toddler
Overall a good stay clean, everything worked, didn’t smell. I would definitely stay again

Not impressed at all. The pictures online make this place look really inviting, but when you see it in person you would think you were staying at a motel 6. We arrived by 3:10 pm and were greeted nicely by a young gentleman. He informed me that my room was ready, but my son's adjoining room wouldn't be ready for an hour at least. We gathered our things together and started looking for the elevator since our room was on the second floor. He kindly told us there wasn't an elevator and gave us directions to our room...go down this hallway through the door on your left, down another hallway and up 2 flights of stairs :/ We get into our room and instantly get a whiff of wet dog. The first thing we noticed was the floor was warped and sunk in in some spots. There were stains on the sofa, patched holes in the walls, rips and tears on the walls everywhere, our mirror was cracked, and the peep hole in the door was cracked as well. The bed was comfortable. Let's talk about the pool. It was freezing when we walked in the room so I was excited to get in the pool. It was like swimming in the lake in June. After I got out I noticed water dripping from the ceiling and that's when I saw patches of algae all around the bottom of the windows all around the room and even in the cracks around the pool. The shower was luke warm and didn't have any ventilation. This place definitely doesn't uphold their quite times rule either. We had an extremely rowdy group in the room on the other side of us that was noisy and obnoxious until 2 am. A couple of times we had someone try to get into our room by tapping the key card and shaking our door handle. Then someone else banged on the door and shouted "FBI OPEN UP"!!! Then you heard loud laughing as they told him he was at the wrong door. For $200+ a night I definitely don't recommend this hotel. It might have been "grande" when they first opened, but they need to do some updates or at least fix the place.

I have a reservation coming up for 12/10/24 and 12/11/24 because I am having surgery in Bangor (live in Northern Maine). I called the hotel to double check it was accessible and my room was accessible bc I will be in a wheelchair after surgery. The woman who answered (Sidney) was absolutely wonderful. She went out of her way to explain how everything is accessible but that the front doors to get into the hotel can be tricky bc they pull out and are heavy and stuff. She said that I can call the front desk when I get there and they can come open the doors for me and also wished me good luck on my surgery. I just really liked how kind she was and how she really truly anticipated my needs while at their hotel in such an empathetic way. We have stayed here many times over the years, and now because of Sidney’s care and compassion, I’ll never stay anywhere else but the Bangor Grande! We also LOVE the bar/restaurant and especially the pool. Rooms are always clean and comfy and the price is always a great value I think.

Our first visit to Maine was for a wedding weekend, and we stayed at the Grand Bangor Hotel. On first impression, we thought the hotel looked a bit outdated and worn/dusty. However, as we settled in, we noticed the staff was always cleaning, and we quickly realized our initial impression was wrong. This is a great hotel for a comfortable stay!
I've had several back surgeries and the bed was also surprisingly "very comfortable" which even the best hotels I find uncomfortable. This hotel gets 2 👍 👍

We have bad allergies, especially around carpets, so I was worried I’d be sneezing a lot. Thankfully, the hotel's high cleaning standards made all the difference, and my allergies didn’t bother me at all.

Our housekeeping staff member, Mary, was especially wonderful—I'm amazed at her energy and dedication! We loved her and her attention to details

Disappointed we were told the hotel couldn't provide late check-out even when we offered to pay so we are stuck in the lobby for 4hrs but we'll know for next time. 😉

We also rented a U-Haul van across the street from hotel instead of Uber and it was a great experience. Loved our visit

Clean room, nice bed, reasonably priced. Tried calling the restaurant to order a pizza but nobody answered the phone. Large pool area. Room service available, if you can get through. My only complaint is that there aren't any USB ports to charge our devices other than that it was a nice relaxing stay

The swimming pool water temperature was unsatisfactory. Guest rooms require refurbishment. There was an unacceptable one-hour delay in receiving the chicken wings. The quality of the food was subpar. The front desk staff provided courteous service; however, this was the extent of the positive experience.
