This is a great, easy little hike if you're looking for gorgeous views of the ocean. You can see Camden hills, boats, waves - it's stunning. However, if you're looking to dip your toes in the water, or promised your toddler she could, then this is not the one for you - unless you want to take your life in your hands. It's a steep, rocky cliff. Also, late June probably isn't the best time to visit. The middle trail was great, but the two outer trails were unmaintained, muddy, overgrown, and so full of poison ivy I had to carry my kid because she couldn't physically step over it. (Perhaps this was the reason for neglect!) Dog friendly is a big plus, but be wary of the ticks. Oh, and the horseflies will try to carry you away. Maybe the off-season is when this beauty truly shines.

Incredible nature walk. You get lost in the land scape. At one point you feel like you’re in a Tim Burton film. Stand along the rocks on the shore and listen to the bell toll of a distance buoy. I loved it so much I went back a second day. It was well maintained even in the winter.

Quick hike to the shore through a clean wooded trail. Yes, there are tree roots, because there's trees. (This isn't a city sidewalk) Several spots to see the shore. If you're adventurous you can climb on the rocks at each turnout. Mid tide might be the best time to visit. Beautiful spot. Quiet!!! Spend time and enjoy the views!!! Love this spot!!!

Drama is the best way to describe this short and rewarding trek that is emblematic of mid coast Maine. What starts as a slow jaunt through old orchards that nature has been reclaiming for 100 years, leads you through toppled trees and tumbled stones, to finally crescendo at Maine's rocky coast. Spruce lined Ash Island in the backdrop, or Vinal Haven island if you please, make an excellent spot for a few portraits of your Family.

The loop back from there takes you through old sugar maples and ash trees, a denouement from the inspiring sights of the rugged, granite boulders of the Maine coast.

Careful though, the tumbled stone paths on the Eastern Circuit are not suitable for folks with mobility impairment.

The craggy coastal rocks will cover over with snow in the winter that hide deep pitfalls for the unwary. If you plan to venture out on the coast in the snow, bring a stick and go slow.

The area has been experiencing lots of tree falls over the last few years, so you would want to avoid this hike on a windy day.

Finally, there are some unimproved low points that fill with water and quickly make muddy quagmires. You should avoid the Eastern trail path within 3 days of a heavy rain.

Edit :8/30/21 take care on the southern loop. Poison ivy is coming in on the trail and the rocky coast.

Great little trail along the rocky coast and through the woods. A bit slippery in the winter but still worth the views.

did the one mile loop to the ocean and back with a one and three year old. saw some poison ivy here and there along the trail. trail was well marked and well travelled. would recommend for peeps with kids, pretty flat overall.

Faites attention! Mon copain, moi et le chien avons tous eu plusieurs tiques… Nous sommes restés sur les sentiers. Par contre , rendus au roches, nous nous sommes assis un petit peu afin d’apprécier l’océan. Je ne savais même pas que c’était possible d’avoir autant de tiques… Alors , vérifier vos vêtements après votre balade .
