I am giving 2 stars because the lady's who answer are wonderful. However, the lawyers themselves are so overwhelmed that they are inadvertently not providing proper legal representation. When you reach out to a public defender via calling and emailing for 2 weeks and they never return a call or an email, and now the next day is time to go to court, that is misrepresentation! I applaud and will defend all civil servants, but this is unacceptable! All we were trying to do is, at least, get a zoom hearing and even though we filled out all of the proper legal paperwork ourselves, it is not going to happen. There is so much more to this story that I would rather not post publicly, but I am sincerely disappointed here. The lawyer could have at least acknowledged the fact that he is overwhelmed and filed for a continuance. That would have been the noble thing to do in my opinion...

Always get a voicemail when you call, no return phone calls or return emails for weeks on end. No communication whatsoever. Ada county you need to get your stuff in order…a private business would be out of business if they operated like you run your operation.

Don't feel bad you were stuck with one of the Public Defenders because you could not afford your own attorney. Most criminal defense attorneys were former public defenders and they operate pretty much the same way. They have just learned to charge you directly for processing you for the prosecution.

Good luck with this new system trying to get ahold of someone. It's been weeks and nobody can call or email me back. Then wonder why people are nasty with you guys.

Most of them will tell you to take the first deal offered and won't actually fight for you (take it to trial) if that's what you want to do. They may inadvertantly misinform their defendants about the entirety of options they have available. "Ineffective Assistance of Counsel" or something like that. Put a fire under their ass, and if they don't perform to your satisfaction, change your public defender.

Amy Lombardo absolutely sucks at everything about her job and representing people. I have attempted to contact her for 3 months to get an appeal process started for my Interlock Device. Three voice-mails and 2 emails later, magically, I get a new PA and have to start this all over with someone else. Clearly Amy Lombardo does not care about the people she agrees to take over, simply wants easy clients who won't bother her, or is in some form of collusion with the courts to prevent cases from being resolved. Gus Tate was awesome!! I was so sad when I was switched from him. Gus Cares.

So I would just like to give a huge shout out to Pierre Carnisie for doing awesome work, being diligent and taking on a case with such short notice with absolutely awesome results!!!
This guy is truly a rockstar among his peers!!!
And that's why I'm giving Ada county a five-star rating for the public defender's office😎
