We decided to stay outside of Anchorage and we are very happy to have chosen Eagle River Lodge for our stay. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The recent remodel was done with quality materials and had thoughtful additions to make your stay more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful when checking in and out. Room was spacious and offered a nice sized refrigerator and microwave. Furniture was in like new condition and far more comfortable than most hotel furniture. The bed and bedding were also comfortable and allowed for a good nights sleep. We would definitely choose to stay here again when in Eagle River!

The rooms were so clean and refreshing! The bathroom was large and exquisite! Beds were extremely comfortable! We had reservations at a chain just up the road and I read a few of the recent reviews and decided to switch to Eagle River Lodge 36 hours out. I am so glad I did! Absolutely amazing hotel rooms! If I come back to Anchorage definitely staying here again!

Really nice bathroom with plenty of space.
We were on the third floor, so lots of trips up and down the stairs while unpacking and packing.
Staff/service was a bit strange. Upon check in the employee at the desk was friendly, but didn’t provide any of the usual check in info, so we had to ask for wifi, check out time, etc. Also they stated not to hesitate if we needed anything, however when we went to ask for additional towels they seemed quite bothered.
Upon check out the next day it was a different employee who was sitting right under the stairs smoking. And while we were packing up the car she just yelled over asking what room we were in and didn’t say anything else. I had to follow her into the office to make sure we were all set with check out and it was just a weird encounter.
Would definitely stay if I was in the area again as the rooms were very nice, but the staff could use some customer service training.

We got tired of driving and needed a room at 2 am. The lady at the desk was so kind and helpful. We stayed in a room with a king bed. It was spotless and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was large and clean. We would definitely stay there again.

Accommodations are limited in Eagle River, Alaska. In my opinion, the Eagle River Lodge is the best option — but that’s not saying much.

Despite the name, this is not a lodge; it’s a motel. It has been newly remodeled, but the bones are still those of a cheap motel. There is no elevator to access its three stories — only an exterior staircase. There is no laundry facility, and daily housekeeping is not provided.

That places the Eagle River Lodge firmly in the one-star motel category.

What makes it even more disappointing is the management’s response to feedback. When I raised the lack of housekeeping with the manager, she was more focused on defending the policy than acknowledging that a guest was dissatisfied with the service. When I pointed out that going five days without housekeeping was excessive, she claimed the business was a “private lodge.” I’m not sure what that has to do with their housekeeping policy, but I can say without hesitation: this is not a lodge.

Look up the definition of a one-star motel — you’ll find a more accurate description there.

We stayed at Eagle River Lodge the last night of our 3-week trip to Alaska. It was great and the staff was better yet. Taylor, Joya, and Tina were awesome; friendly to talk with, helpful in finding local restaurants, and most kind & patient getting my phone back to me. This was a great choice for us. Close enough to downtown Anchorage, yet out of the congestion of the city. We definitely would stay here again. Thanks to y'all at ERL.

We had a ridiculously bad experience at the Air BnB we rented within 2 hours of getting to Alaska. Long story short, we had nowhere to go and stopped into this hotel. We filled her in, and Jeralynn was the most compassionate, giving person. She and the young man behind the desk made me cry with their kindness and understanding after 16 hours of traveling and exhaustion. The room was so comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. I cannot recommend enough!!!!

Absolutely the best place I have stayed in my three trips to Alaska. I was in town for business. I loved it here and I’m fairly particular.
Beds: super comfortable. Shades: 99% black out. I slept amazing, but bring a mask bc Alaska. Staff: incredibly kind and helpful. Location: 15 min to Anchorage, 30-45 to Wasilla. Several fast food joints nearby and two grocery stores. Many coffee options within 5 minutes drive. Fridge (no safe, which I did miss), microwave, desk, bed. Nice size room and bathroom.
CLEAN, updated shower and bathroom. Did I mention soft comfy beds with soft cozy sheets/comforters? There is a very nice ski resort 1 hour away and I wish i was back at the lodge to sleep tonight!
I could not figure out the TV but I didn’t try very long bc I watch my iPad. I am positive Alex or another team member would have sorted if i cared enough to ask.
