We love the hidden gem bar in the back of Marcel's! We have returned for our date night a few times and Emily consistently delivers specialty cocktails with great skill. It is a very welcoming atmosphere. Don't be nervous to head to the back. It is great!

Best. Subs. Ever.
Perfect ratio of bread/meats/veggies/flavors, large portions. Yes, I ate half of it before taking a picture, it was just that good. The "Godfather" is my absolute favorite. They bake their bread fresh daily, and I love the consistency with which they serve their food. Lovely "speakeasy" in the back, too. Highly recommend it!

The Neat Whiskey bar in the back is a really nice touch! But Marcel’s really shines with their subs, including a $20 Fresh Maine Lobster Roll that is served on fresh bread baked daily by Marcel himself.
Pop in for great conversation, a tasty sub and amazing whiskey or cocktail of your choice.

Delicious sandwiches!! Very reasonably priced! Friendly owner/service. Our group had the Godfather, the harvest turkey, and the gym shoe. Each delicious with high quality ingredients. Highly recommend!

This place SERIOUSLY undersells themselves—

The ingredients were fresh and plentiful, our sandwich was well-composed, filling and delicious. (There is a very large selection of hot sauces if you’re into that.)

The only affordable fare in town by a long shot— we were charged under $10 for a foot long sub!

And don’t get me started on their whiskey selection. The sign says “beer and wine,” but this shop has an EXQUISITE whiskey bar in the back, with an extensive list of flight options.

In the back by the bar, the ambiance is like the “captain’s cabin” in an old ship—lots of dark wood and leather chairs with a lovely view of the bay.

I was in booth bay for the day and randomly walked into this great spot. Lots of seating and a large beautiful bar. The food is extremely fresh and also the bread is made there in-house daily also. When people say Maine is a culinary capital, this is what they are talking about. Cheers.
