I don't know about the care they provide inside but I do know this flag has been torn and ripped for over 3 months and they have not made any attempts to change it or get the flagpole fixed so they can change it. So one can only imagine if they neglect a flag are they even taking care of the people that are in their facility?

From the time my dad arrived at Avery Village he was treated with kindness and respect. The food was always very good. The chefs were very accommodating. Avery Village is a small community with a family atmosphere. The staff was always friendly, caring and compassionate. I am very appreciative for the love and care shown to my dad and our family during his stay at Avery.

Avery Village is a quite family like community the staff is great with the residents you can tell they care. The food is good and cooked from scratch. They do a lot of activities and events for the residents. Couldn’t ask for a better place for my loved one. The Executive director is also a nurse and she goes above and beyond for the residents at Avery Village.

My partner’s mom was on the assisted living side & is now on the memory care side. Its a small place where you get to know the staff & it feels more intimate. They took good care of her on the AL side and we are very impressed with the memory care staff! We feel fortunate to have Fil with them. Food is good, her room is clean and they do a good job keeping residents occupied.

My father chose to move to Avery Place when it was an Enlivant community. I did not love Avery Place, I found the rooms small and the facilities a bit worn. But my father said he liked it and that is what matters. Since Avery Place is a small community there was a continuity of care and communication. An acquaintance of ours had a family at Avery Place a number of years ago and was very pleased with the community at that time. I felt reassured by her experience.

I believe it was about six months ago that the business was sold and became Avery Village. A number of changes occurred both immediately and over the following months consequently I decided my father would need to find a new residence. I do not know the name of the corporation that currently owns and manages the facility now known as Avery Village but I would not recommend any residence they own or manage.

The first change I noticed was during the transition period. There were a number of personnel changes. It was strange to see executive directors change in such quick succession. A family event that had been scheduled was suddenly cancelled with no reschedule date. Avery Place employed a full time nurse. Avery Village replaced both the director and nurse with a regional director/nurse who is not only divided between two tasks but also is split between several communities. Someone else in these reviews noted an understaffed facility. Several staff were no longer visible. The activities director was let go and the position was not filled. Fewer and fewer people including residents were visible when we visited. I started asking about the increasing number of available rooms. My father noticed these changes and periodically complained. He missed the activities director. Avery Place had outings for the residents, those ceased with the metamorphoses into Avery Village. Activities seemed to become few and far between often depending on volunteers and their willingness and availability.

One of the most concerning things happened about two or three months into the change of ownership. I received a phone call from an emergency room at about ten o’clock notifying me that my father had been brought in by ambulance. Avery Village never called me. Not before and not after. My 93 year old memory impaired had been left alone to negotiate his care with doctors through the haze of memory and cognitive impairment.

For the first time in over seven years of being a 24/7 caregiver to my wife Merry (Advanced stage Alzheimer's), I had to entrust my Merry (temporarily) to someone else. I am so glad I found Avery Village, run by the most competent, professional and empathetic staff I could have wished for. Thank you to taking such good care of her. If I ever need assistance again, I will most definitely call on you.

Someone who calls on this facility- I have to say this is one of my favorite facilities. All of the employees are beyond friendly and so quick to respond to anything needed. All the residents seem super happy and always smiling. If you are looking to place one of your loved ones or a family member in a facility, this would be one of my choices.

Love Avery. Nice facility, clean and very nice people. I know that they take good care of their people. My granny is there and she likes it. Loves the food.
