Excellent. Truly, a cut above the rest. My family and I travel out to Lavonia every so often just to eat here. Our server, Laci, was an absolute sweetheart. The food came quickly while still being fresh and delicious! The presentation of everything made me pause before eating so I could properly admire the artistry behind it. Every bite was slowly savored and properly appreciated. The kitchen and wait staff should take pride in what they do, for they are undoubtedly a major highlight of this city. Well done.

This is a very charming restaurant and bakery. Nestled into a great little small town.
The waitstaff was very attentive to our needs and checked back often to see if we needed anything. The food was very good with a good selection of sandwiches, fruits, and pastries to choose from.
I had half of a brisket sandwich and a bowl of loaded potato soup, outstanding.
It was a very nice experience. You do need to get there early for lunch as it gets crowded, but it's well worth it. Oh, and Laci, our server was the best!

We stopped in for lunch today. caddie, our server, was fantastic. The food is amazing! So many desserts to choose from…it was my friend’s birthday and she chose the mocha cheesecake—FABULOUS!

First time dining here and I drove 60 miles to eat at this restaurant.
I've been reading the Hometown monthly magazine for several years and I had seen ads for this restaurant but was never nearby during their hours of operation. Well today they were open for business and I had the time to drive to Lavonia. It was so worth it !
I had a combo lunch of Spinach cheese quiche with a salad and my husband and 1/2 of a club sandwich with a salad. It was just the right amount of food for your midday meal. And we ordered a slice of cake to bring home to enjoy later. There is a bakery in the same building that has loaves of bread, cheese straws, cakes, pies, and cupcakes.

Second time dining at 211 Main, what a fantastic cafe! The best, I mean the best, home cooked fresh dishes, made from scratch cakes and desserts. I have seen their cakes used at wedding receptions, that’s how decorative, delicious and large they are!
Today, my daughter and I had their amazing Pecan, caramel cheesecake made from scratch! How often do you get to enjoy old fashioned made from scratch crust! If you are ever near Lavonia, this is definitely a must stop!!!!

I'm a MAJOR food snob and I not only loved the food but highly recommend this place! My hubby got the meatloaf special and I got the baked potato soup. His Meatloaf was delicious (no green pepper or large chunks of onion..yaay!), green beans were tasty too as well as the mac n cheese! The potato soup was some of the best I've ever had. I didn't care for the bacon bits on top b/c it was very fatty (freshly cooked buy wasn't crispy). They have a full range of desserts, all of which looked delicious! They also had meals ready to take home and bake/cook such as soups and chicken pot pie etc. This place is operated by Mennonites so you know the food is better than average. Our waitress, Katreva, was super sweet, helpful and looked after our needs in a timely manner! We will definitely return!

We love to eat at 211 Main Street Restaurant. My wife loves their chicken, and I love the roast. We just took our two kids here, and my 8 month old loved the potatoes and gravy as well. The service is excellent and people are friendly. The atmosphere is family-friendly. We love their cakes and pies as well! I should have taken a picture of the size of the cake slice (we opted to bring our desserts home with us). If you have never ate here, give it a go! I believe you will love it too!

Editing to update after 2 years: This place is still awesome! Service was great! My glass never reached empty, and the young lady who kept filing it always had a smile. There was a young man working who also made sure any empty plate was promptly removed. They make the best Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Look at the pictures of our desserts this time!!

I visit Lavonia, Georgia quite often. It’s one of the many Georgia cities that has a quaint and bustling down town square. This particular bakery/cafe is located conveniently downtown and is always packed. Food is always fresh and service is great. Freshly made pies, cakes, desserts and breads, along with side items, are sold separately as well as numerous hot and cold lunch entrees. Yesterday, dining in, I ordered the Pimento Cheese Sandwich with chips and pickle for $8.99. Only took a few minutes to receive because the pimento cheese spread and bread are popular items. The whole grain bread slices were huge and perfect. In fact, everything was delicious and huge!! I did take half home for dinner. It’s hard to order dessert when your lunch is so enormous. Desserts are pricey (around the $5 range) but you can always order one to go.
